My ****ed up saturday night

so it all ends up with my car damaged, but let me explain the story.

Last night at 7:30 I was at walmart buying a new coffee maker and some other necessities and when I was done I went outside and opened my trunk with my key and set it in the trunk. then my dumbass closed the trunk.

Now this is a first with locking my keys in the car. I was so pissed because for one I live by myself and my family 1200 miles away. second my house keys are on my keys in the trunk. and my only spare is at my house.

so I call a guy I work with and this little **** has the nerve to first say he needs to ask his wife. then an hour later has the nerve to call me a piece of **** because I didnt call a cab. Now I still have no key to my house so a cab is not going to help.

then I try and call my landlord to see if he has a spare key and I cant get ahold of them.

So I call my insurance company cause I have roadside assistance and first she says ok we will get someone out there. Well 30 minutes later she calls and says they have to cancel because they arent in my area. then she tried someone else who said they will be to me in an hour.

It is now 10:30 and I am still about 10 miles from home.

Finally at 10:45 this tow truck driver finally arivves and says he will get me out of here. Now at first he says hondas are a bit tricky to slim jim, but he says he can do it. I sit asside the car and wait. not much I can do.

now this guy starts with the passenger door. he sticks a wedge in between the glass and door so he can have access to the door latch. now for 20 minutes he is sticking this long metal piece in the door trying to get it open without success. he then asks if someone has tampered with my door locks. I say no because I am the only owner of the car.

He then moves to the driver door where again for 20 minutes he is unsuccessful at opening the door. he is now frustrated because he doesnt understand why it wont open. I think in my head he just doesnt know what he is doing. well an hour and half go by and he cant get into the car. I now feel he has damaged something because of the way he is going at the car.

he finally says that he cant get into the car and wants to try and take apart the door latch and then when inside pull the door panel apart and fix it. I say no and ask him to call my insurance company and have them send someone else out who can open the door. He says if he cant do it, noone else will be able to. thats bullshit. I bet a honda roadside guy can.

well at about 12:30 I finally get ahold of my landlord who is going to come give me a spare key to the house. this guy finally says to me "If anything is damaged when you get in the car, call ME, not my work and I will come and take care of it. he says if anything is bent or damaged he will fix it." I say whatever and he leaves fealing bad.

well to make a short story short I finally get my key to my car and get in and of cource the passenger door wont even open. from the outside or inside. apparently something is broke or fell off. I call the guy a tell him and he says a rod came loose and will fix it tomorrow which is now today.

well this morning I go out to look at my car and sure enough both driver and passenger windows are scratched up from the tool he used. so now I am pissed and decided this guy isnt going to fix the windows so I call progressive and file a claim with them. I now want them to replace the front windows and anything damaged in the doors. after an hour driving a metal rod into my door latches, something is damaged.

Someone please tell me I made the right decision on filing a claim. I think I did now seeing as I can see my car in daylight and now see the damage to the windows.

I say yes. But not sure if you're financially responsible for the damage they cause trying to get in. Not sure how that works.

the way I look at it is the towing company works with progressive for the customers with roadside. Its ****ed up cause the towing guy has called me several times this morning wanting to fix the door. I still believe in my mind that there is more damage in both doors.

well turns out there was damage in the passenger door.

I ended up talking with the manager of the tow company and he was an ******* and basically said he wasnt going to pay for anything. I then talked with the tow truck driver and he came out and finally got the door open. When I took off the door panel to inspect everything, I found the rod from the key cylinder to lock assembly was knocked off. I positioned it back in place but now the door will open and close but as soon as I hit the lock button on the remote and then unlock it, the door wont open. it has to be slim jimmed to open. So I am replacing the lock assembly next week. the tow truck driver wanted one of his mechanics to look at it, but I said no. He said let me know if it fixes it, hopefully he will pay for it.
