Hi,

If this is the wrong forum to post, I´m sorry
I´m coming to Miami in June for a 2 weeks vacation. It´s my first time in the US and I thought this could be the right place to ask for some advice.

First off if someone can recommend a cool hotel by the South Beach (ocean drive/lincoln avenue. I´ve looked at a few places, but I thought it would be nice to hear a local opinion on what´s a nice hotel at the surfside.

Then if someone could give me some website and street addresses to good Car Stereo/Ice stores and home electronics shops, these would be very appreciated

And if anyone has some cool places to visit or to see, I´m all ears.

I´ll be in Miami 10-14 of June and then rent a car for a week and visit Key West, the Everglades, Orlando, etc.

if ur in orlando u need to go to disney world epcot (I work there) and watch illuminations at 9pm (must see show)

Lookin' to spend a pretty penny stayin' on Ocean Drive...?? I'm pretty sure you need to have phat money for that. I never really liked South Beach when I went...the clubs were decent, yet costly to get into and you never knew what you're getting into once you were in...much less walking down the street to the next club (got scary at times).

their is a parking garage on 16th in between washington and collins(u can leave car ther overnight etc its like 1$ an hour MADDDD CHEAP for miami (its a locals kinda parking garage)

be careful tho.. stay at the courtyard.. 99% of hotels on south beach....are crap and dont have A/c then the other 5% are wayyy to nice and too expensive courtyard is realllll nice

Thanks for all your help. I´m still going to look for a while and then make a desicion. But more important than the hotel is finding some nice accessory, ice and car part stores in the miami area, anyone?

sooo, if I´m looking to buy some interior parts and f.e. apexi controllers, there is no good place in miami?

how about the car stereo shops? Wheels are a bit difficult to take with me back to Europe

So, everythings booked, the flights, the car, the hotel but now I´d like to know is there anything special happening in Miami or Florida around 10-22 of june. Any car shows, happenings, etc?

you should have come this past weekend. EVERYONE was at south beach for memorial weekend. it was crazy packed. as for shops, there aren't a lot of good places to go. or maybe its cause i dont go to shops cuz i dont trust them. they all overcharge for simple things. the place to get good priced electronics is at the flea markets. my favorite is the opa locka flea market, but the swap shop is good too. you just have to know how to haggle. and know what you are talking about because they WILL try to sell you some peice of ****.

Couldn´t come this weekend, my holiday was booked a couple of months ago. I don´t have anything special that I´m looking for, some accessories, maby a new stereo for my car, an ipod and stuff. Thanks for the tip on those flea markets!

Still, are there any car exhibitions or shows during the next 3 weeks?

hey im in Iraq now if i was home id be able to help you out alot better... as for electronics... I bought all my stuff at the swap shop... (pioneer indash dvd, sony 10 disc mp3 changer, 2 10" pioneers , amp box wiring etc.) they include some kind of warranty on their own for liek 20 days but all their products come with manufactures warranty... the swap shop i go to for some reason is a tourist place too? I think its because of the circus? well its right off 441 (east of it) on sunrise blvd. ... that swap shop is around prob. 30 min. tops from Miami.
