Someone please explain this to me...

Ok, so I have practice at a major University (Lehigh University)

I went and parked around back today, and when I was walking to the entrance I passed a nice car. Im like "hmm, nice G35"

But...when I got up to the car...it had "S K Y L I N E" across the back, with a "350 GT" emblem in the right hand corner....WTF?!

Has anyone heard of this car before? Or was it just a TERRIBLE case of Rice?

Please help, its driving me crazy

*edit* I meant to put G35 instead of 350Z *

Well in Japan, the car is called the Fairlady Z. No where have I ever heard the Z referred to as a Skyline 350GT. The G35 Coupe and sedan, is called the Skyline in Japan, but isn't a 3.5L, it's a 2.5L, so its rice to me. The Z is the Z... everywhere.

Just typed it in yahoo. Seems to be that the Skyline 350 GT-8 is some new car. I found some forums from random places saying that they got to test it or something.

There is an up-model version of the V35 Coupe called the Skyline GT350... I stand corrected, but it's still no excuse for the badging to be on a Z. They're not the same car. They look OEM, because they're JDM OEM.

the G35 coupe in america is the R35 Skyline in japan. so its partially correct. the 300ZX and 350Z in america are called Fairlady Z' s in japan, Z32 and Z33.

How much crank HP does the 3L and 3.5L make?

the difference between the skyline and skyline gt-r (which most people in the US just refer to as the skyline) is like the differecnes between a lancer and a lancer evolution..

They're all VQ series engines... VQ25DD, VQ30DD and VQ35DE.
Click that link I posted, it's got all the numbers you want to know. Nissan had to stop making RB and SR engines because of the new Japanese emissions. They can't pass. That's why they stopped making Silvias and GT-Rs time being.

OK, thanks again Boiler. I also heard a rumor a little while back that GT-R will be GT-R alone, and Skyline will be Skyline. And it might not use VQ
