First time in the new M3
First off I just want to say that I didn't get to drive the car but I sat shotgun in a friends 2001 M3. I was just hanging out at the local Dave&Buster's when my fiance's friend said that she had borrowed one of her other friends M3 for the week and asked if I wanted to take a ride. I was like
We got in and I was already feeling really happy inside. She didn't waste anytime going WOT at the first curve from the parking lot. She must of been accelerating past 40 around the turn, but the car didn't even lean! It was almost shocking how stable that car is. We went up and down the freeway upshifting and down shifting all the way  This has been my dream car but I never thought I would have the opportunity to ride in one until I actually buy one in the near future! That car pulls like no body's business. She made my day obviously

yes the M3 is a niiiiiiice car. I run an auto detailing business, and I had the pleasure of detailing one. I am not sure if they come stock, but it had some nice red leather seats. It also had a body kit, 19" rims, and an xbox. I was pretty amazed.

I also had a luck chance of riding shotgun in 1, it was SMG M3. Man, does that car have torque on all ranges. It's unfortunate the person driving wasnt a good driver. But the sound on sport mode produced at around 4+K RPMs...... sweet! Nothing sounds like it.

I'm not sure exactly but its been described as a small turbocharger added to the car. I think it just makes the car more responsive which it already really is. They are changing the model in 2005 and I can't wait to put my name on the waiting list in January! Hopefully by next Christmas I'll have one in my driveway

What does sport mode do?
My dad recently bought a leguna seca(sp?) blue 2001 M3 6 speed. And i had the privilage of driving it last time i was down visiting. Its a very nice car, i wanted to drive with sport mode on, but he said its not that much faster, chews through gas, and makes the throttle too sensitive in his opinion.
Sitting in the passenger seat is completely different than the drivers seat. In the passenger seat , its roomy and comfy. But once the door closes on the drivers side its like being in a cockpit, everything its within reach and compact, looking throught the long sloping windshield over the big hood. Its hard to explain. The shifter is smooooooth, the clutch is great, not to short, not to long
Unlike our cars that stop pulling after 60, the M3 just keeps going and going. When we'd need a good distance to pass a car. In the M3 you only need a split second. Doing 100 in our cars the engine is screaming, but in the M3, it just casually coasts at 100. After driving that everything feels slow.
