I have raced my friend's 2000 V6 Stang. His car is an automatic. It's a close race, but when I get a good launch I can beat him.

V6 Stangs are alright compared to our cars. Although to me, torque is slow to react, and transmission (5 speed) isnt that great to shift, it should still be able to win, 5 speed vs 5 speed.

CuRiOuSfIsH, you must be joking. A 5 speed stang will blow our cars out of the water. THe only reason that I can sometimes beat my friend is because automatic stangs has slushy trannies and I'm a 5 speed.

Auto Stang vs. Auto Civic = Stang winner

Auto Stang vs. Manual Civic = Either way, depends on conditions but it will be close

Manual Stang vs. Auto Civic = Civic doesn't stand a chance

Manual Stang vs. Manual Civic = Unless the stang mishifts, the civic will lose.

What if the Auto Civic has some basic bolt-ons compared to a Stock Manual Stang with a chick driver?

v6 mustags are not fast and even a 5 speed would get beat by a civic ex i have bolth quarter ile times a v6 stang with intake and exaust runs a 16.7 and a stock civic ex runs a 16.5 so its reall close but i guess its all about driver at that close of times . my civic lx with pulleys intake and exaust will beat a v6 stang auto or 5 speed they have crappy gears or something with either tranny they dont have that great of horepowr to the wheels

my girl gotta 2001 v6 stang convertible auto... that thing is not slow, when i floor it the whole car jumps forward and accelerates pretty quickly. When i downshift in my 5spd civic, all i hear is my engine, and nearly dont feel as much acceleration as the mustang.

isn't that just the torque that's kicking in for the mustang...

I've raced a girl in a 2002 v6 stick, and I smoked her. Maybe she missed a gear but I really don't think so. It was a close race. I only won by a car. By the way, I got a stock EX (only 17 inch exels)

my dad once rented a auto V6 stang and he let me drive around for a day when he wasnt using it, i was HIGHLY dissapointed with it. i thought "even with a mustang it should still be fast for an auto", BAHAHAHAHA!! was i wrong, IMO it was crappy. i believe auto stang (stock) vs. auto civic with just a simple 35 shot would kick its ***. i'd take a 5-speed civic over auto stang anyday.

Manual Civic Si (Canadian) vs. Manual V6 Stang is very close...So close in fact that it's all about the driver and that's why I whoop them. The V6 doesn't backbuild enough power before the redline hence they **** early. Then the civic shifts but by that point the VTECH is making up the difference....At least that's how I saw and felt it each time. I've run two on the streets and won, not by much, but I won just the same.

i do not think the little jerk you feel is from the torque, instead, it's from having a rear wheel drive car

my friend's jetta can beat my other friend's 240, but the 240 jerks harder, and i think a volkswagon have more torque, available earlier than a 240...

that's just my not so educated guess. because it seems that none of the ff cars i've been in jerks really, compare to the fr

I would have to agree with that....My Camaro really jerked more from the fact that it was real wheel drive, later on in the build the torque made the front jump up like crazy...Of course, the fatties I had helped out as well....Man, those were some HUGE tires.

people here run 50 shots without any problems so a 35 would just fine. and with some new internal parts that are starting to come out for our engines, i wouldnt be surprised to see 75shots soon.

There very close, I would say most comes down to the driver honestly....But the V6 Auto gets eaten regardless.

ahh celica GTSs run low 15s... they put up a good fight when i race them and i run 14.9 stock. The best time ive seen for a V6 stang is low 16s.

fastest ive seen a modded gts run was 15.3-15.5...my friend is not stock...but then again...thats what manuel stangs run stock, low to mid 15s...very similar to GTS's..it all depends on the driver...with manuels or autos...ive seen peeps who have autos get beat down by other autos that are supposed to be slower...ive seen a Celica GT get beat by a civic DX both auto's....both with I/E

go on www.newcelica.org... there are some celicas in the 14s STOCK.

v6 stang manuals are not low to mid 15 second cars stock.. more like low 16s.

hahaha! i know what you are trying to say, but i couldnt resist ....but i do know what you mean. i raced a stick v6 stang and beat him because he shifted wayy too soon, while my car (auto) just kept goin in the same gear and he didnt catch up until we got to the next light (where i had to turn)
