01 Civic VS. CRX

On my home from Wal-mart last night i spotted a very riced CRX, altezza style taillamps, a supra style spoiler with another aluminum wing spoiler bolted on top of that, and SI badges. I wasn't paying to much attention and somehow ended up at a light next to him. He yanked down his window and yelled "Ya wanna run'em?", i asked if he had a swap or some boost, and he said "nah, only a cold air", not to mention his unreasonably loud autozone exhaust tip, and license place hanging on wires from the frame. After I sized him up, I said what the hell, lets go. I launched at 4200rpms and feathered it out, i immediately jumped ahead, I nailed second and kept it floored. By this time I heard him grind going into second so I shut it down. I asked him if he blew second, and responded sadly with a yes. So I asked him to go again. Two blocks later we hit another light, I launched at 4200rpm again and got a little wheel hop on the uneven pavement. Through 1st i was about half a car length, halfway through second i was a car length and a half ahead, and at third I shut it down. He gave me a flyby(which I hate) at probably the top of 3rd gear. I thought CRX's were a little faster then that? I guess i'm an ok driver, but damn, thats slow.

EDIT: On second thought, i would want to tangle with a CRX in autox.

crx's are slow without a motor swap ... which is usually the case.

Probley a D15, ive seen a few quick d15's before though. Dont think ive ever seen a supra style wing on a CRX though. I take it you didnt like it.

The supra style wing would have looked somewhat nice, IF he didn't have an aluminum wing bolted on TOP of the supra style wing. The entire supra/aluminum wing assembly probably stood 6 foot tall, from bottom spoiler to top spoiler, it was ridiculus.

Even if it was a D16, you still would have won since be missed 2nd. Probably that wing set up slowed the CRX down.
