civic VS del sol

After dropping off some cloths at the dry cleaners. I pull out and noticed this black del sol with a body kit and a huge wing behind me. It tailgated me for a while. It switched lanes and pulled up next to me at the first light. I looked over and it was a chick looking at me like she had the fastest car in the world. I just smiled at her and looked away. When the light turned green. She took off hecka quick. From the sounds of her motor, it seemed like she was going full throttle or close to full throttle. I just ignored her and kept driving the speed limit (35mph). We soon came up to another light and once again she looked at me like she just smoked me in a race. She was on the right lane and I was on the left. I needed to get on the right lane to get on the freeway. So I thought I would go for it. When it turned green I broke a bit of traction, but still a good launch. We were almost even off the line but I started to pull a little on her after around 5500rpm, shifted at around 6500 and pulled a bit more after 2nd. By the end of my 3rd she seemed to have gave up on the race after I got about half a car length on her. I switched onto her lane, slowed down and later turned onto the freeway.

Interesting encounter... The Del Sols are relatively slow. I say that, because they are heavier than they look and have a stock D series engine in most. I have seen heavily modded Del Sols run 16s in the 1/4 mile.

but only someof them are slow, del sol vtec models have the same b16a2 found in the 6th gen si, but the del sol si, and base model have dseriesengine with 127 hp and 106hp, just a question if a del sol si runs 16's and 16's are slow what does a heavily modded em run?

Notice I said most have the D series... I am well aware of the VTEC equipped B16 models... but I haven't seen very many around... usually its an S or Si. I know the EM is slow too... I have been to the strip to find out. But I have never ran a heavily modded EM and I do not own one... But I am sure its better than 16s. It has to be!

Honestly, I feel Del Sols are poor drag cars... but much better for the corners. My brother has 1, D block, will lose to MPV's and Caravans on straights but will beat out most cars on the corners on the road. But good job anyhow.... maybe the Del Sol was auto... that would make the kill even easier.

A base model 97 Del Sol weighs in at 2,300 lbs, although they may appear lighter 2,300 lbs is still pretty light.

A stock Del Sol Si does 0-60 in 8.8 and the quarter in 16.8

A stock Del Sol VTEC does 0-60 in 7.4 and the quarter in 15.8

so im calling the :zbsflag: on your "heavily modded" del sols running 16's. Maybe they were STOCK or lightly modded del sol S or Si (CAI, header, exhaust). But heavily modded means more than simply bolt ons.

BTW i know a guy who has a B18C1 in his del sol S, thats heavily modded. He says it runs low 14's but my mazda beat him by a good bit and it runs low 14's. But he obviously doesn't run 16's or even 15's
