just to clear up this lancer vs civic debate... i test drove a lancer oz before i got my civic, it is by no means fast. i have a 5 speed ex, but i cant imagine that big of a difference in the lx auto, especially if the driver of the lancer was less than mediocre. my aunts ford ranger could probably beat a lancer. and SUPERCHARGED, i dont know what to say other than youre a boner. if youre so stuck up a celica's hatched-***, join a toyota forum

so either your friend can't drive, you did something horrible to your transmission or he backed off (since driving an auto doesn't really require any skills)

Right. Mine was timed at 15.31 with a buddy in the car with me. Without him, it would have been 15.2 or lower.
Roughly 190 hp in my GTS right now, with about 168-170 to the wheels.
If I added an exhaust and headers, I'd run mid to high 14's.

With a supercharger.. now that's a whole different level.

Yes rx-8 is delicious. But were into a whole diffrent league once that comes in. The blue rx-8 in X2 was effin sa-weeeet. Personally I think if people were really THAT into acceleration they wouldn't buy a civic OR a celica. I knew my civic wasn't fast when I bought it. It was a good car for a good price that I liked the looks of. If price was no object we would all be driving lambos or vipers or bugattis or whatever.
