Rep Power: 389 My first night at the local drag strip
Alright, this is my first time participating in actual legal drag racing. Coastie(another member of 7thgen) and I drove up to the Dorchester dragway to test out our cars.
My car stats: 02 EX Manual
AEM CAI
Tanabe R-Spec
REVO SS
Weight:
Sound System +50lbs
Me = 260lbs
Coastie's Car Stats: 01 LX Automatic
STOCK
Weight:
Him = 140lbs
Coastie and I ran 3 races against each other. Then a guy in a mid-90's Galant(auto) approached me wanting a race. He and I raced twice. Below are the time slips
I only had my timeslips to scan. Each race was neck and neck. I'm sure he will come post his times.
First race:
Since this is our first time racing, we were just getting used to the christmas tree and launching.

I dropped the clutch and bogged. He jumped and I was at his rear fender the rest of the race.

Rep Power: 389 Yea, it was 1/8 mile.
The guy in the Galant was claming to be stock but he had a loud a$$ exhaust. I could see he had a muffler tip hanging from the back, but no pipe connecting it. It looks like he just removed the whole cat back.
Are these times good for 1/8 mile?

Rep Power: 4623 hey guys thanks for the input..
umm well you see my mods and i ran 28 PSI in my SI Wheels on the front and 32 PSI on the rims on the rear..
I launched at 2800 - 3000 rpm and didnt have much spin..
also i avoided hitting 2nd gear because that breaks traction and thats a no no..
but once again thanks for the input..
and i know this is 1/8 mile talk because me and fly were talking earlier..
i posted my slip once before but somehow it never showed up..
but fly isnt doing horrible people.. everyone has their days and he was having one of them i guess but im impressed on what he did..
have a good one...

Rep Power: 0 Hey Coastie here...Yeah I went with Fly up to the track...It was a good time...although I got beat all three runs. (not by much)
1st run with Fly:
reaction: .638
ET:11.49 @ 61.354mph
That was my best and first time ever. I didn't think that was bad for an auto LX with rims and tires and stock engine...What do you all think??

Rep Power: 0 A short Ram won't really do anything except sound cool. You will be sucking up hot air from the engine and that kills your power. Will actually decrease your HP and make you slower.

Rep Power: 0 Thanks Fly...but you had some sweet runs! I think if you had clean, new tires you would have had better green lights...Those stock tires suck!...I think that's the only reason the races were so close...I have those Dunlop tires and I stuck it at the line...That was a lot of fun!
