Ricer Story #1

Ok so its about 11 AM on a tuesday i in the Mazda, im riding around with a friend that has seen the fast and furious one too many times. Normally we go riding around on Fridays doing what we call "Ricer Hunting". Forgetting that its 11 AM my friend is convinced that any moment were going to find that big group of ricers that ride around on Saturdays. Skeptial i begin heading home when we see a 99-00 black civic Si pull out in front of us, it has a exhaust nothing else. But something just doesnt look right. After being behind long enough it hits me. This "Si" has EX tail lights, EX wheels, we pull up along side him only to see the misplace DOHC VTEC sticker, 2 things cross my mind

#1) Its a guy with a turbo Si thats converting his Si to a sleeper "EX"
#2) its a ricer

as were looking we guns it and takes off, we follow

we come up to a red light his lane is clear, i have 2 cars infront of me, he stops along side of me.

VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
he has it pegged at the redline, we see his car hop foward

then

...
...
...
quiet
...
...
...
...
i can hear my radio again

Then we hear the sound of a starter turning an engine over

THUN, THUN-THUN, VROOM
VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM
back to the redline his poor little engine goes

He does the"i wasn't me" routine

light goes green

he takes off, we follow, we get alongside him again.
Embarrassed he tries to take off, we stick to the side of him like glue (note: im note even at half throttle). I won't forget the look on his face. He wants to leave us in the dust soooo badly but he can't. He turns off, so do we. Doing 40 mph in 3rd gear 3000 RPMs, my favorite numbers. He tries to leave us again. Im tired of playing so full throtle, 14 pounds off compressed air are forced into my engine, we pull, we pull hard.

Ricer Story #2

We are out ricer hunting, not a good night, no ricers in sight. We see a Del Sol with a body kit pull out behind us, we slow down for him. We don't see any stickers no huge exhaust (or any for that matter) body kit looks nice. But then something horrible happens, something that has scarred me for life...




he stepped on the gas




That was the most god awful sound ive ever heard, it was a high piched, loud, piercing sound.
We leave him, but he wasn't racing i was getting away from that sound. BIG MISTAKE

we get caught at a light, he sees our eagerness to go fast, so he challanges us to a race. But not by words. The god awful sound i heard before was music compared to the sound hes making now. Think dirt bike at 20,000 RPMs with a generic pep boys "louder is better" exhaust.

I know the driver of that car is deaf because my ears HURT and i was exposed to this "sound" for less than a minute. He wants to race now, he revs his engine, i rev mine, he takes off, i let him go. Thats got to be the frist race i forfitted.

Well turns out that guy went to the resturaunt were the friend that was with me that night works. My friend asks what he did to his car, he said his engines stock. My friend continues to ask him questions trying to find out where that awful noise was comming from. The guy says he has no exhaust, claiming that it was cheaper than buying an exhaust system. He proceeded to pop his hood, and when he said exhaust, he ment exhaust SYSTEM, no headers, no cats, no muffler. His exhaust system begins at the exhaust valve and ends at the exhaust port.

Ive got many more ricers stories but those are the most memorable.

He stalled, what a geek.

Thats sucks......I can't front tho. I did it once on my friends motorcycle at a light once. I was so pissed. It was the last time I did that tho.
