... Vs. Mustang.

Oddly enough it happened right across the street from my house (yeah, I said to myself I wouldn't speed on my street again cuz neighbors keep catching me but whatevAr). I'm at the light next to this older model Mustang... in white. It has a modified dual exhaust and it is NOT a 5.0. It's a 4-cylinder model. I've heard lots of stories about people in Civics beating these Mustangs so here's my story.

The race didn't start at the light, in fact there were two cars ahead of us (one in each lane of two). I was in the right lane, he was in the left. It was some guy in his 40s-50s with this lady probably just as old with her window down. Guess they liked my BA7Genz sticker. After we passed the light, I make it cruising into 3rd gear as I did not make any sort of speed shifts. I'm right next to him and at about 30-35MPH while a car is still in front of him (and now no one's in front of me), he pushes the gas pedal more and his exhaust note screams while he shoots forward for a split second and then eventually he paces me again. The lady in the passenger seat is just smiling and laughing like, "Please, this lil Civic can't do **** to mah baby's Mustang." I drop it to 2nd and as my RPMS open up, my car just LAUNCHES forward and harder than his car. He proceeds to follow. For some reason, I put it back into 3rd gear early because I didn't expect him to follow me so... back to 2nd... and shortly after, back to 3rd and shorly afterwards I just LEFT his ***!

I didn't have breakfast this morning for today's meet... but oh wait... this was a delicious victory. *burps*

That is BULLSHEEIT. If it helps you, neither person's hair in the vehicle was gray.

Old people don't like to race? Haha! Why do you think some of them buy fast cars? Let me guess... just to waste so much to look good?

yeah, they made 4 cyl mustangs in the older body style. same body style as the 5.0. if it wasn't a 5.0, then it was a 4 cyl.

That may be true but since you didn't say they never race, and that it's not too often, guess what? This time, it ACTUALLY happened! It happened! Jump for joy! Some old people do race!

I DONT BELEIVE YOU BEAT AN OLDER MUSTANG, HE PROBLEY WASNT "RACING".
Again, you must need to be told twice... his loud modified exhaust note, and him getting on my *** with his LOUD EXHAUST NOTE behind me said he was racing. What I don't believe is that you even actually read my post.

IF HIS GIRL WAS ANYTHING LIKE MINE, SHE WAS BITCHING ABOUT HIM ABOUT TO RACE
Irrelevant.

Your views are so one-sided I'd have to slap myself just so they could make some kinda sense to me.

HahA! I just think you dont know anything about Mustangs. Granted, I hate Domestics, but this is what im concerned about.

1. How do you know it was not a 5.0
2. Norrmally They dont put dual exhaust on 4 cyl.
3. Even if it was an 1990 Mustang LX 4 cyl, THey only make 105 hp and 130 tq. So That would not qualify as a KILL STORY.
4. SInce when does a loud exhaust mean He wants to race you?
5. Maybe next time EAT SOME BREAKFAST and make sure you TAKE IT TO THE TRACK. RACING IN YOUR OWN NEIBORHOOD ISNT TO SMART KID.

Actually, stock they are only 88hp w/132ft-lbs of torque. I'm gonna guess it was automatic too merely because of the age of the driver.

Why they ever put "Mustang" on this car is beyond me. No Mustang should ever leave the factory with anything smaller than a V8.

Umm. My friend in high school had a Mustang LX green hatch. 4 cylander. SLOWWWWWWWW! But becuase it was rear wheel it spun like it had power. hell my 95wrangler could keep up with it. and my dads minivan tour that thing to peices.

I beleive you dawg. hell I took a Z3. but i don't brag about it becuase i would just get a BS Flag.. you know and i know and that is all that matters!

this hp rating is correct...my wife a convert. the turbo stang was an SVO and made in 1986 only and has a mighty hood scoop. People have the SVO's in the 11's and 12's so fear the scoop. the 4 cyl fox body stangs are the slowest cars eVar and my wifes felt about as fast as her old 3 cyl geo storm. good kill but its like beating an old lady on a motorized scooter.

Ok I'm going to set this whole thing straight right now. I had an 89 LX 5.0 with 375rwhp before I bought my civic. I was and still am a Mustang fanatic. If you are talking about the "older" fox body style stang with dual exhaust it was most likely an LX or a GT. If it had the lip kit around the car with round fog lights it was a GT. If not it was an LX. The 4 cylinders did not come with dual exhaust and I HIGHLY doubt someone in their right mind would waste their time and money to put them on one. Especially an older man. Usually the older generation that buys the fox body stangs wants them either for a collectors item or they want the power. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it was an LX. If it was an LX the guy was DEFINITELY not racing you. If anything he was just excelerating normally. Just because the exhaust gets loud doesn't mean he was racing you. In my LX the exhaust was extremely loud throughout the entire power band and got louder as I excelerated slightly. Even if the stang was a bone stock LX the exhaust would still be loud and he would have definitely SMOKED you! Bone stock LX's put over 210hp at the tires! There is no way in hell you would even keep up with one. I really don't think it was a 4 cylinder because it was "loud". Even if you put dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder stang it would not be that loud. So someone find the BULLSHIT flag for me. Cuz this kid is full of it.

Oh and to the kid that said there was a turbo 4 cylinder made in the fox body style. You are also full of ****! There has never EVER been a turbo mustang produced in any model or year!!! I don't care if it was SVO or SVT. Ford has never used a turbo in any of their stock mustangs. The only type of forced induction that has been used in a stock stang is a supercharger. And those are found in the newer Cobras. Somebody please find me the BS flag. These kids have been owned!!!!

Please don't try to talk your way out of this because you will only look stupid. Just walk away.

Actually older people LOVE to race. There's this old man i keep seeing in a Grand Am and he's always picking on civics and other econo cars. Old people love to buy fast cars - not race in the city, but once they hit the open road, they gun it.

And yes, the story is very believable. Older mustangs came in I4's and weren't very fast.

Why don't you post a link to this information so you can justify yourself. I can pull numbers out of my *** as well. To this day I have NEVER read or seen of a stock turbo mustang. Prove me wrong. Post a link and pictures would be even better. Until I see either one, I'm still calling BS!

3,798 of them were made in 1984. Happy now?

OK, now before you throw a fit because it appears the website is down, here's a link to Google's cache of the page.

Yes I am happy now. Thank you. I'll be damned and I thought I knew almost everything when it came to mustangs. There were so little made and that is probably why I have never heard of them. I am still standing by my BS claim on the kid that smoked the stang.
