Once again, I kill another.

Well I'm Driving down ST 32 taking my friend home that lives in east boofoo, and I see a 90 civic hatch back in the right lane about 3 cars up. From a distance it looked good. Fresh paint, sitting really low, exhaust, and ect. Well I get closer and its bouncing all over the place like got no struts. And to top it all off its got some ugly crome wheels on it. I'm not a big fan of crome wheels on civic, but each is there own. Well I've got my girlfriend along with my buddy chris who I was taking home in the car with me. He has only himself. My SI is bone stock still and only has 860 miles on it now. Well I have no idea what he's got under his hood. For all I knew he had a built B16 under there. He had a gauge pillar, but from what I could see there was no boost gauge. Well The speed limit is 55 and I'm doing about 52 due to traffic. As I pass him up he whips over into my lane right behind me. Hes riding my a$$ like none other and I wanted to do nothing but brake check him, but I didn't want my friends to get hurt or damamge my SI. Then the truck in front of me got over in the right lane and the left lane I was in was open for as far as I could see. So I down shifted into 3rd and right before I gave it some gas with the clutch in to jump up the RPMs, I hear him drop it into 3rd and get on it. So I shift into third and drop it. I played with him letting him gain alittle on me thinking he was the bad a$$, then I shifted into 4th and gunned it. I left him by 6 car lengths. He didn't have a chance. Then I shut it down at 80 because I already proved my point and he does a fly by in the other lane and gives me a thumbs down. So I speed up to him in the other lane. He's getting onto an exit and looks over at me and I gave him the thumbs down and laughed the whole way driving away. Just thought I'd share with you guys.

Wow... did he have one of those nifty LED Gear selection read outs like the WRC cars do?
And you drop it into 3rd to "play with him" and allowing him to "gain on you" then UPSHIFTED to floor it and beat him "by 6 car lengths"?

The logic train just passed the station without even slowing down.

Sorry. I guess I should re-word that. As I down shifted I heard him down shift a milla sec. before me. I left it in 3rd running it out easy, while playing around with him, then shifted into 4th and floored it. Thats what I mean.

dude, i don't understand why you didn't just get on it in 3rd instead of waiting to get to 4th?
if you only made it to 80 any way, you could have left it in 3rd at 55, then romped on it until you hit 75 or so.

Why didn't you just floor it in 3rd?

I was trying to give him a chance. I wanted to see if he really had anything under his hood. Thats why I left it in third and slowly ran up the RPMs. I was playing with him.

Jodster I was just wondering do you find yourself bouncing off the redline sometimes, cause you expect the engine to rev alittle more. My friend who used to have an old Si and he said thats what he did when he test drove.....he bounced it like 3 times. That car redlines at 6800 or 7000?????

The new SI fuel cuts out at 6800, but it runs all the way to 7100. I've just gotten use to having 200 more RPM and mostly shift around 6700 due to being use to my old 01 EX.
