Ahhh the jealousy is strong in this one!
Lol, pisses me off too. Ill BARELY keep up with a stock SRT4, ON the nitrous.
Im going to need a built engine and boost to actually put an owning on one.

Neons are such crap, this proves nearly nothing. I have a feeling they'll explode. Their odometer prolly doesnt go to 100,000.
Neons are the root of all Evil; neons and Starbucks and maybe Bill Gates.

"i would not buy one i dont care ITS STILL A NEON. just like if toyota made a fast *** corolla or camry its still WEAK "
This is coming from someone who drives a Civic?
lol <confused>
FWIW, the Neon is actually quite reliable (as I own a 1st gen)...
Please explain why you hate neons so much...what did that poor little car ever do to you guys?
lol

Hah...priceless...
Really though.....It is hard to dispute the fact that this car is a serious performer....I wouldn't say that this is something Honda should have done a few years ago....Dodge is WAY overdue for a return to the Turbo arena...infact, as hard as it is for some people to admit, Dodge made the pocket rocket a credible market segment back in 1985/1986.....

The creditable people on this forum who have a beef about the SRT give specific reasons for not liking the vehicle - sayin "is still a neon" or "its a domestic, so it won't last" are not really creditable arguments - Would I but a SRT? Probably not, I'm not a fan of the headlights or the stock rims (which obviously can be changed) and I like a smaller car, but I have respect for the Car and Dodge for producing it - I would race it if I had a chance, but I'm sure I would probably loose, even with the V6 Eclipse .....
I don't get why everybody downs other people's cars, no matter what kind of car they have. Shoot, I don't care if someone has a hooked up Ford Festiva, if that's what they like, that's great...more power to them (probably not too much power in a Festiva, though ). The fact that Dodge is making a fast Neon is great, in my mind. It shows that they're starting to go in the right direction. I'd buy one if I wasn't in love with a GTI 1.8T (it was painful to read that post, by the way
). I just say quit hating, because some people on other forums feel EXACTLY the same way about Civics. Can't we all just ge along?
/rant

damn, that gti was modded to 14.3, i think stock the gti 1.8T runs a 15.3 1/4 right?
i think a big reason the srt-4 is selling for ~5k cheaper than, let's say the wrx, is because dodge didn't put a lsd on the car. if they did, then the cost of the srt would definitely be closer to the scoob. if a serious non-rice tuner interested in power/performance wanted to get the most out of his srt, then he'd have to put that ~5k left over into a lsd and he's only left with ~1500 after that for tuning.
still tho, 1500 could go into a boost controller, turbo timer, .....
i would never get it because i've never liked the look of the car and i never will but it will definitely do a lot of own3ing and i can't wait to see one at the drag strip

Forget a boost controller, i'd put the extra $3500 into the stage II turbo upgrade.

u need to READ MY POST CAREFULLY
if u subtract the 5k from the 1500 i said that was LEFT OVER after buying the lsd, i implied the lsd cost ~$3500 with the labor to put it in
that's general price from what i've found about a mugen, kaaz, and quaife lsd for the type r so it may be lower than 3k with the right price and labor charge
Dodge really hasn't done anything impressive. it's just that all the other manufacturers were taking baby steps.
Hell, the GLH-S was mid 14 second car stock, sport compacts have only moved forward in terms of luxo, refinement, handling, but not really much in power IMO.
Even before the weak SC's we have now, they had turbo probes, MX6's, sunfires. All of them were decent enough to hang with current SC's in a 1/4 mile.
I'm thinking E36 M3, Mk IV Supra TT, FD RX7, WS6 LS1, Z28 LS1, used C5, or WRX STi
lmao, domestics dont have a lock on the RWD department.

as much as you talk about it, i always figured you would end up in a lightening.
out of the list you gave... the sti has the most potential IMO. it already has as much hp as the ls1's and as much tq too, and its a turbo so i think you will end up being able to modify that a little better...but im sure you knew that.
get an LS1 or LT1 if you wanna sit there and spin.
supra and the rx7 is a whole different class.
