had a little fun today!

Hey guys,
I was bored today when i got home from school, and my brothers friend was over that drives a 6th gen sedan stick, and he was like my cars faster blah blah blah, im like hmm ok, but i dont have any mods, you got I/H/E and pullys! so thats like 15-18 hp right there , and i only got 105 under the hood on my 4 speed auto so he said, lets so how fast you can get from one entrance to the other , im like alrighty! so we hop in my car, and back out and go down the street, and turn left , then right and then right out onto will clayton, so i roll out onto will clayton, im going about 20 ish, and then i pop it into d3 and stomp it so the car leaps foward and throws me into the seat a little bit, im flying up on a vans *** that just pulled outta the other entance that is the stoping point for the little speed run, but lucky they turn and get on the other side of the road and i fly by them at about 80 - 85 , oh and heres a picture of the road im talking about, keep in ming my car weighs about 2435 +140(me) +160 ( him ) = 2735 and i only have 105hp and like 103 troqueif the picture doesnt show up clicky!

What do you think is wrong with these numbers? Other members have dynoed their cars to see about the same gains with the same mods.

No I'm not. I just did realize that kind of numbers could be reached with just I/H/E.

Yea, people on this site blow stuff way out of proportion. Truth is all original civic engines suck. But bolts do some good. They aren't totally crap. Some people jsut aren't happy with their cars.

are you serious? someone suggested i buy pulleys and i laughed in their face. if this is true you would think people would buy an intake and pulley before buying a intake and header, it would also seem that pulleys would be a better buy dollar per horsepower than an CAI.

on a side note i read somwhere that a d16 engine in like an early 90's civic can be built up to have over 200 HP, dont think it was a d16a, it was something crazy like d16z but i dont remember and i could be all together wrong.

Don't blow it out of proportion 18, pulleys alone prolly cant give you those gains, maybe 75% or so, that's why they say most time "you can expect more gains with bolt-ons, or with forced induction" With i/h/e and pulleys, yes you can expect those gains. Try it out, get i/h/e and get pulleys, or pulleys first then mod, pulleys are a great investment, get good i/h/e combo and good set of pulleys and you can expect great gains.

Although I think it's worthless, or less worth buy "cam", it would be better to have the ability to retard one valve set, and increase? the other valve set than only being able to retard or increase both. Increasing both might be ok, but I'll have to see it before i spend money on "cam", maybe with a camshaft too.
