2 things. Flying by traffic that fast at ANY time isn't cool.

As for your radar detector.... useless. I don't care if it saves you, cuz it will betray you. Radar detectors are useless now. Especially with Gen III lidar out now. Range almost a mile, pinpoint accuracy, and undetectable by radar/laser detectors. Also useless against instant-on.

Don't mean to preach, but you really should think about comin back down to earth with those speeds around innocent people.

Well in the back of my mind all you say i know is true........EXCEPT my radar detector. Now its gone personal ole blinky and i go way back we used to play dodge ball with one another man, but seriously my bell has never let me down EVER. I have mostly always found the popo car the radar was blinking about a long ways away. Yes i know new radar is comming out that is undetectable but before i spill 300 bucks on anything ima do my homework and my bell was rated one of the top by several testing companies and is upgradeable so i know that damn radar works and works good. Yea i know the simplisticts of radar: instant on= #ucked, laser= #ucked but i havent been pulled over since i had it. mind you i got my first speeding ticket 3 days after i got my licence....ouch!

I know i should'nt drive fast but i feel that 140 is laughing at me!

help the cause send nitrous!

A. nitrous won't get you past your rev limiter (contrary to a popular fast and furious myth)

B. if ol blinky works for you, i ain't gonna step on your toes. just tryin to help you out....

gen III LIDAR has been out for a year or so, and it's nasty. a cop can pick you off so far away it's not even funny.

That mysterious 5th gear is the torque converter locking, and you should be scared... not because of that, but for driving that fast through traffic. Ole blinky isn't going to save you when someone changes lanes in front of you and you're going 110....

Yea goin 110 by innocent people is a nono. 109 or 105 is good, muchhh safer.
As for radar detectors, i just palced an order for the Valentine V1 radar thingy.
Is taht good?

Beats me what happened, but seriously dude. If you're going to go by at break-neck speeds, do it at a reasonable hour, like 3am or the like. I'm not condoning excessive speeding by any means, but honestly, 2pm? Are you nuts? If chance doesn't kill you, then your stupidity will...there's a big difference between 20 over and 50 over

And about radars? V1 is the best in the market besides the hugely pricey high end stuff that jams and doesn't sit on your dash.

Then there's the Escort Passport 8500, and THEN comes your dinky blinky.

The heck are you talking about? I did my research for more than that looking for a cheaper alternative to the V1 with the same level of protection. Radartest as far as I searched didn't have a review on the 950, so I don't know about that one. All I saw from Car and Driver, RadarTest.com, epinions.com, motor trend, and carreview.com, not to mention the countless praises it's gotten from other sites/magazines was that it was the best bang for the buck.

You're very quick to assume that I did no research whatsoever, but that's not the case. It's really hard for me to justify spending the 300.00 on anything considering what my expendible income is, let alone on a radar detector, so damn straight I've invested plenty of time into researching it. I seriously hope looking at radartest that you weren't looking at this article, because it's alphabetically organized. And all I see from this 2003 test is that just about all the Bels don't really stack up to the 8500.

Still, the bottom line is you were being reckless by driving in the middle of the day at stupid stupid speeds. I hope you get smarter than your posts, because at the rate you're going, you're going to end up as another article that gives us car enthusiasts a bad name.
