Rep Power: 0 I dont know what your term of "very easily" is compared to mine.
I drove a 98 cav for a few years before i got my 01 vic ex. I dont know much about cavs but ive heard that they just keep tweaking the drivetrain every year to get a little more power.
I guess you ahve the advantage over the cav with auto since you can launch with your manual tranny, but teh cav has advantage over vic with autos since teh cav can manually get into 1st and power break from that instead of from drive like teh vic.
I would have to say that it would be a close race against the cav with stick if your jsut an average shifter, and please take it out into the middle of nowhere so you guys dont get laughed at or cause any serious damage to anyone else. I also think that a stock cav has more hp and tq than the vic this year so i would probably put my money on the cav with stick, but money is on the vic if the cav has auto.

Rep Power: 376 This has to be like the 3rd "would a civic beat a cavalier if..." thread I've seen in the last 2 weeks. What's up with this?
It depends on what model cavalier, and the driver. It's a close race, but I do believe the Z24 cavalier will win either way.

Rep Power: 0 All new cavs have 140hp ecotech right? or so I was told somewhere else on this forum, if it does then that is enough to overcome the cav's slightly heavier weight. If its an auto then that will slow it down alot. If its a manual and they can't drive then well they'll probalby stall it or spinout uncontrollably. If they can drive, then they probably got you beat, especially not only more hp, but lots more torque.

Rep Power: 0 I raced a 2001 cav in the summer twice. First one i had a bad launch lost by about a car length at 110 km.
2nd go I smoked him off the line he mis shifted into second I took about 2 car lengths... We went to about 150 km/h and the higher we went the more he gained. I'm not a very good driver, and apparently neither was he but I'd give it to the cavvy....

Rep Power: 0 What's up with these threads! Not enough info given.
It's a toss up but i'd say Cavy.
It's like saying who would win? An elephant with Nikes or a Bus full of Homos?
