Today on my way home from the LA Auto Show, which was pretty good by the way, I got a speeding ticket. I admit I was going pretty fast and the cop was really lenient. I was doing about 90 on the I-5 South, which wasn't too fast compared to the cars around me, but that’s typical. The thing that bothers me most is I saw the cop a few miles ahead on the side of the road. I was distracted talking to my girlfriend and didn't even think to slow down. I just held my breath as I passed him. Then felt a chill run down my spine as I watched him shift his crown vic into drive and pull out behind me... Damn it sucked. He was a nice guy though and put 80+ on the ticket rather then 87 as so I could go to traffic school. Anywho moral of the story is to never do 90 on the freeway.... lame yes but its a moral none the less.

Yeah, that does suck. Same thing happened to me on the I-15S heading to San Diego. I was going between 85mph-90mph down a slight grade, in the fast lane, with about six or seven other cars around me. An Altima even began to pass me as we drove past a CHP car sitting on the side of the freeway.
Instead of going after the Altima driver though the cop decided to pull me over because I was the first car in the fast lane that he aimed his radar gun at. Eventhough he wasn't a jerk to me, he still wrote me up for 86mph (16mph over speed limit). I paid the fine, went to traffic school, and I am now more observant of my speed and law enforment.

Going to traffic school keeps the points off your insurance. Which in this case is my parents insurance .

The thing that bothered me most is I was going slower then a white station wagon in the carpool lane. Ahh well lifes a bitch and then you die right...

heh, 92 in a 65, AND i got supervision and driving school, never went on my record! fortunately for me i later realized that 30 over is an arrest for wreckless driving and endangerment with a lethal weapon. Thank god i was going uphill. Oh, and this was still with my first car 98 cavalier back about 3 years ago.

lol, i was racing my friend on the freeway and we didnt notice the police bike pacing us. Long story short, my buddy got tagged and i got away. Although i split the ticket with him, (I would hope he would do the same for me) he had to do the traffic school.
