3.8 V6 in the '01 Monte SS is fair game to those of Us with an ex 5-speed. My mom owns one but I never raced my mom, although I did get a chance to race some guy a couple weeks back. I thought I'm going to loose but guess what? My reaction time was WAY better than his and I managed to pull on him till I reached 3rd gear. From there I kept a 1 1/2 car lenghts between Us until I reached about 85 mph where I slowed down.
From this I'm guessing a V6 Camaro is fair game.

60mph in second?? Does your car have a different gear ratio than a 01 civic ex, because 60mph in 2nd sure as hell doesnt happen in my car before redline

I think the important thing to remember is even if you lose to a Camaro, at least you didn't have to drive that big piece of outdated crap.
The fact that the Camaro wasn't running properly only highlights the fact you shouldn't buy unreliable, gas-guzzling hunks of junk.
Camaro's are a waste of money, I think I could design something better in my own garage!

BTW: I am amazed at how fast my lx coupe is, even more amazed when I average 33mpg on cheap 87octane.

Actually my g/f had bought a 2002 Camaro SS ( i posted pics a while back) when she bought her trailblazer, and I have to disagree when you say there a waste of money .....They are a very fast vehicle, well built and very good looking......The fact that you have **** for brains may make you think this way, and that is why I'm not really offended by what you said. Outdated??? Ummm OK, not sure what you mean there, but there goes that **** again......And I'm sure that LX will be breaking 16's in no time ......lol.....especially on that cheapt 87 octane .....As Mr. Guru has stated above, please do not produce any offspring, as they will tend to bring the IQ of mankind down 1000 points ....

Bunch of you talk like your 127hp civic ex or 115hp civic dx/lx is freaking fast. I bet most of your 'kills' were even racing nor knew how to race.

Yes our civics can beat certain v6 Camaros, I have only raced one and it was a late 80s or early 90s and beat it. But no 7thgencivic will beat a 5.0! Thank you come again.

03Eclipse:
I'm the idiot? You're the one that needs a dictionary to figure out what outdated means.
I'm the idiot? You obviously don't even know what an IQ score is, if you think I'm going to bring it down a 1000?
I'm the idiot? The civic takes 87 octane, if you put in higher octane you are wasting your money.
I can also tell you that this forum is called "Street Encounters", not the "quarter-mile club". If I wanted a race car I wouldn't buy a Civic or a Camaro.

HondaGuru:
I'll assume you got confused and looked at 03Eclipse's car pictures and not mine, because you must be referring to him as the "ricer".
I'm not the one driving an economy car with a wing, chrome wheels, an automatic, and custom tail lights.
Also, you should take another photo of yourself, that one isn't very flattering.

Reality is tough guys, try and deal with it.

hondaguru, shut your face. I've seen many of your replies and all you seem to do is attempt to flame others. Flaming FSR for saying he beat an 89 prelude? What kind of kiddie sh it is that? are you some sort of immature dude who ridicules others to make yourself look all the more hard? what a f ucking loser.
