Should I try it before I get subs?
Ok, this one kid at my school has been begging me for almost a year now to race him. He drives a late nineties Ford Escort ZX2. It has 130hp and weighs just under 2500lbs. I have an auto ex so 127hp + K&N FIPK and 2555lbs. Both are auto, and both have 17in rims. If I give him a run, would it basically come down to reaction time? I'd like to know in case I decide to do it before I start doing stereo stuff, coz my new Solo Barics are going to belike having a ten year old in the trunk.

It'll be close probably. I beat an auto Escort ZX2, but I have a manual so I pulled on him hard and easy.
Definatly do it without the subs. Although, I had a 12" solobaric in my car when I ran the Escort and I still won. But no telling what happens with 2 autos racing.

i say why not both times? go once without the subs, and once with the subs. but thats just me. I raced my friend with the exact same civic as me except i had a dc sports header. THAT was a close race, i had subs too but he had a body kit. That race just depended on reaction time.
