Either way, I'm sure that I will run into a lot of you at NOPI Nationals in september right? We can settle this in Atlanta. That way we would have lots of EX's and Si's ready to go.

I went to the nopi nationals here in SA this year. It sucked [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/IMG] it was a little too wet. But you'd be glad to here that an EX won the burn out...and it went up against a supra,mustang gt, and some other rear wheel drive cars. The ex was pretty much stock, had i/e I think:

I live in montebello, work near lax. I wouldn't consider myself a "racer" but if you are willing to race i'll meet you half way.
I have an i/h/e, the exhaust is obx and i smashed it so the silencer doesnt come off. I have some heavy *** rims (which i want to change) and no weight reductions, if anything more added. oh and its an lx sedan if that matters any

Ok i read up to pg 13....(got tired of reading), so im just going to go ahead and say what i feel needs to be said. (i own a 2002 civic lx) First, ive got a few questions, everyone says that an LX is faster then the EX, right? So why doesnt an LX owner race the SI? Ok, Why has their been so much shiit talking but no racing yet? This is plain stupid, just cause the guy who started this forum had a LUCKY race means that everyone has to start hating. I will have to agree by looking at all the times posted that it would have to be a drivers race. I know absoultly nothing about the new SI (besides the fact that it is plain UGLY :barf[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG] (but everyone has their own opinions) but i am starting to learn a little something about them....that all their owners are just as COCky as DSM owners. I mean seriously you guys dont have anything to be braging and hating on the 7thgen coupe because you guys run 1 sec faster then us stock. Personally if i owned the new SI i would be ashamed and wouldnt even be posting. I would love to race a new SI from around here but im not stock. So this sucks.

He apparently neglected to read the last page worth of posts.... where we WERE getting along. That's really poor moderating. That would be like me locking this thread now, and saying "can't we all just get along".

yeah, that happens a lot. Basically he feels that some people are going to read the first few replies and think it's still a flame war and continue on with stupid replies. I know it doesn't make since, but I think he did it to end anymore possible crap between people.

But what's really sad is most threads that go the way that one was going, will end up like this one. People kinda start to see other points of view, and start to get along. Then you get new members to your site, and they start contributing to regular forums. You should never lock a thread if people are starting to get along. If you go back and read, I've been moderating the entire time, and removing anything that I felt was pushing it. (including changing some name calling to "smurf")

I still think the si is a faster car than the EX, but i definantly won't underestimate an ex and do anything stupid like give him a rolling start, or think that i can walk all over him without even trying. Long live all civics and power to any civic, lx,si, or ex, just glad that they're representing .

This whole arugment should have never came up. We all drive civics and we all have different budgets. Some like the style of the Si, others like the standard coupe or sedan, whether it be dx/lx/hx/ex or whatever. Granted Honda DID make the Si to be a better peforming car, the truth is stock for stock the EX isnt THAT much slower. hence the driver's race argument. If i wanted a car for all peformance and mods, I would have most definately bought a new Si. Sometimes I wish i did, but I really like the style of my coupe.

We are Honda drivers. We are entusiasts for cars. It's not about winning or losing all the time, just get it on a track (not on a street) sit back and enjoy the day with your friends. That's what this is all about. That is why we have forums online, so you can talk to others who share the same interest as you because you can't always be at that persons house or at the track.

I love my Honda, for its own reasons. EP's love them for their reasons. I'd like to see a race just to make sure in the end that the other driver isn't saying "I told you so!" and is saying "Nice race bro, wanna go the bar" or something to that effect, god only knows that's how my friends and I are.

It seems like this post it looking better, which is good, but all I'm saying is that the name calling and minivan jokes aren't neccessary being that they're only a person's taste. Take care all of you, that includes those who drive EPs, S2000's, even a domestic, who cares, just chill.

im goin to put my final statement into this thread before i leave it.

Stock SI VS. Stock EX: drivers race.

Modded EX VS. Stock SI: EX will probably win by a hair

Modded EX VS. Modded SI: SI wins because k20 takes much better to mods.

Yea, we weren't saying that the EX would win 24/7 against the Si. If there were robots driving the cars exactly the same in a race then of course the Si would win. It simply has "more power"(said in a Tim Taylor voice). But in the real world there are many outside influences that can control a race. So there is always a chance that a more powerful car can lose to a lower model.

I couldn't have sait it better myself. I see a new si with an arospeed muffler around my college sometimes. I'm gonna try to race him to see what happens. I agree that if an si has more mods than just an intake we will get raped. I don't care that much if I win or loose in a race. Its all about having fun.

You know what's a driver's race? RSX Type-S vs. Celica GTS. Base RSX vs. Civic Si, maybe vs Celica GT. Civic DX/LX/EX is no driver's race with 02 Si or base RSX. In fact, a guy on club RSX did race a bran new Civic EX owned by his friend and pulled 3-4 carlengths on him in a stop sign to stop sign race. I test drove Civic LX and base RSX (same engine as 02 SI) on the same day and the two cars are no where near in performance. Come on, let's get real here.

Oh, and 15.8@91mph is impossible. 15.8 may be possible for your car if lightened, but certainly NOT at 91mph. You'd need at least 140HP AT THE WHEELS to hit that trap speed. So either there was an error at the track (it happens) or the guy was spraying. An RSX Type-S hit 15.2@100mph and that certainly was an error as the guy knew he was under 95mph. Another guy with modded sentra hit 12s when his car was a mid 15s car at best. Oh and if you look closely at that video, the period is after three digits showing 918.xx mph which certainly is an error and the trap speed is usually shown with only 2 digits after the period and not 3 so that video you posted earlier looks like a perfect example of a track error.

Anyways, where are your dyno charts? Where are your timeslips? Yeah, I didn't think so. I like your cars, I like this website, but many of you really need to wake up.
