I believe you! my dad had a 2002 sonoma with the 4cyl and it was sooooo slow. And I had a 2000 silverado with the v6 and it was not that fast, it did pull my boat well, but thats about it. Why do people put our cars down so much I've been going to the local track forever, and considering the CLASS of car we have, i.e. price, 4cyl, there not that bad. a bone stock S-10 with a 4.3 auto runs high 15's..the manuals can run low 15's...if it was from a roll he really would have destroyed you...Unless you launch..the ibig torquey 4.3 would make fast work of you.

I don't know if the guy is full of sheit or not but the rest of you need to layoff about how the extreme runs this, runs that, wipe your mouths....He said it was a 5spd! It doesn't matter what the truck is capable of, it matters what that driver is capable of....a so-so driver can easily add a sec to a car/trucks BEST performance times.

Heck, I raced an s-10 with the v6 shortly after getting my civic. I wasn't expecting the guy to race so he got the launch. By the end of 2nd my headlight was at his front tire and I was pulling hard, my lane merged into his and I had to quit as I ran out of room. His was an auto for sure and if I had launched, he'd been toast. Not sure what the year was but it was a late model like 97, 98, 99 or something.

To everybody that doesn't think this kid is telling the truth, one of the kids that I bowl with on Sunday's at Gala in Naperville, IL owns a s-10 Extreme with headers and full exhaust, and intake. We race almost every night we leave the bowling alley, mainly for the fun of it and also because it is very hard to deteremine who has the faster car / truck. Sometimes I win sometimes he wins, the s-10 extreme with the v-6 4.3L isn't like the baddest a$$ truck out there, I hope everybody understands it is actually not that fast.......
