Went to the drag strip.
Went to the drag strip.
Well yesterday my buddy in his FG2 was wanting to go to the drag strip and well I was like alright I would like to see where I am at with you. He has stock FG2 and I have a I/RH/E ep3. Well we got down there and well we lined up and got ready. Well the results I was pretty happy with actually. This a 1/4 mile by the way. I went 15.4 and 60' was 2.3 and forgot mph and my buddy in his fg2 was a 15.3. I was pretty happy that I kept up with him that good considering that my car has bout 8 hp less and so much amount of torque and I am a 5 speed.

Re: Went to the drag strip.
I kinda want to take my car to the drag strip just to see how accurate the pocket dyno on my iPhone is. On level ground, from a stop, it said I did a ¼ in 15.7 with boltons and a lightweight flywheel..
I'm pretty sure it's at least a second off. haha

Re: Went to the drag strip.
Lol ya it might be off alittle but it really depends on the altitude of where you are at. I have seen runs from a new stock si with a time of 15.8 cause the strip was at high altitude.
You should take it man its alot of fun when you take a bunch of your buddies with you and take runs at each other. Down here at our drag strip we have import nights on friday so everyone gets to take runs for free.

Re: Went to the drag strip.
For real? free runs? At the Vegas Motor Speedway, it costs $15 to run.. And they only have races every other Friday, I think.
Plus, I'd like to fix the problems I have with my car before I run her at the track.. and get some better tires, too. I'd have to learn how to dial in my suspension for drag racing. I keep it stiff for fun on twisty roads.

Re: Went to the drag strip.
Yea, the only time they allow public racing on the drag strip is the friday night "midnight mayhem" from 8pm-12am.. If they had something where they opened up a road course, I'd be all over it.. haha
Me and my friends have been talking about gathering 32 people and renting out laguna seca for a day. I think we figured it'd cost like 300-350 per person if we did.

Yeah,I'd also like to see the times the K24 puts up.The torque difference should help a lot not to mention the power.Your buddy should get some I/RH/E on his ride.K20Z3 is beast with it.
Re: Went to the drag strip.
But me and him are going to go for another run next friday or this friday if you want to say that. But I am hoping that I will either be like a couple hundredths of a sec slower or faster than him. I am going to try to get my 60' down a little this time, I am hoping to get like a 2.1 on that so I can get a better edge at it. The only problem with him beating me is my 3rd gear. Me and him stayed side by side till 3rd and he gained on me but soon as 4th I stayed with him. I know if I get a good take off and good 60' I would be able to be right there with him or even beat him by maybe alittle.

Re: Went to the drag strip.
Yes,family should always come first.Do you get any wheel spin off the line?A good launch would have you beating him considering how close the two cars are.
Re: Went to the drag strip.
The previous owner took my Blazer to the track. It pulls low 16's. My bike is capable of 10's but I haven't taken it to the track yet. I say that if you cannot pull 14's go home. That's why I am not going to take my civic to the track.
By the way, look up "A scooter races a firebird" on YouTube if you haven't seen it, it is awesome!
