My buddy has a 02 civic lx a/t and he thinks that manual civic lx is .3 faster in 1/4 mile. Looking for other opinions. Please put this dumb *** idea to rest . Thank you

I dont have exact #'s for you, but the difference should be 1-1.5 sec, more or less.
In other terms it is about 150-200 ft difference at the end of the run.

It is alot faster. Before my swap I raced a guy who had a EX auto with similar mods and I completely buslengthed him again, and again. I would say that there is ATLEAST a 2 sec difference.

Yes there's a diff. My friend (manual 2002 civic lx) and I (automatic civic 2002 dx) were at the track all night running together few months back. I was running constant 17.3@84mph. He was still new to manual and didn't know what launching was etc. His best time that night was 16.9 (without knowing to launch properly)
