smoked a neon sxt

not a big accomplishment i guess but this was funny. i pull behind what looks like a black srt-4 on silver rims. well i look closer and its just a sxt w/ a full body kit that makes it look like a wider srt-4. it had dual exahust holes but no exhaust or tips.. sounded really loud.. he hit it hard pulling onto the main road and i followed close. we made a left turn and both punched it he had me through 2nd and when i hit third i passed him very easily and didnt stop. i dunno much bout these cars probably less horse than us but im not sure? anyway thought that was funny. im bone stock also.

whatever. its a neon, neons suck bawls i raced an srt4 @ 18 psi and only lost by like 3 cars and im only @ 5psi. sad things, if any honda boosted at 18 he would be at least clocking a 13 something.

My friend has a 03(or 04) sx 2.0 (canadian name for the neon) it's automatic and he weighs 250+

I have a 02 civic dx (115hp) automatic, I weigh 130.

I'm 2-0 with him

There is no way. An SRT4 is stock at 14-15psi and runs 14 flat to low 14s all day. An SRT4 at 18psi would be a mid-high 13sec car. The only civics that even have a chance of seeing those #s are those that have 8psi +. I guess the guy must have been a horid driver. Anyways SRT4s are not that bad of cars, IMO they are the best bang for the buck. I mean with a couple of low $ bolt-ons those things can be 12 sec cars.

they do have around 140 but they still suck *****.

SRT4 is pretty cool but sort of a bastard to drive, i'd prefer a well setup RSX anyday. Then again I dont drag race, like ever.

best bang for the buck? hardly. personally i think the older GSX's are the best bang for the buck. how much are new SRT-4's? 17-19 grand? spend 12 on a low mileage GSX and spend the rest of the cash on AEM EMS and bolt ons and you have yourself a mini evo

automatic neons are slow...5-speeders are quick. the 98 coupe twin cam 5-speed ran 15.9 in the 1/4 and a buddy of mine with boltons (intake, exhaust, header, computer) ran 14.5

You can still get a 2005 SRT4 that is new from dealers around here, but I guess that would be because we have a major manufacturing plant and they stockpiled parkinglots full of the f'n things. Anyway I was not considering older cars when I made that stament. Does that make you happy??
