well today after work i was headed into town to hangout with some friends. at the light i look over and see an older maxima (maybe 98) with some huge rims and bumping stereo. im sitting here no music having a cigarette. so at the light i take off normal thinking hes not racing and i hear him floor it. i had jsut shifted to 2nd so i floored it from 2nd (yeha i know bad idea) and we go up to 80 and he has me by about 1.5 car lengths. so we catch yet another light and thsi time im ready to go. i rev to aboiut 3000 abd take off nicely at green redlining first and second and to my suprise i have him by about half a car length. haha so we went to about 80 then he turned off the road. so. my quest ion now - should he have beaten me? i know he was flooring it bc his front bumper was at my back the whole time. idk. kind of made me proiud of the d17 haha. anyways. later

mm... just saying stock for stock.... I did read your profile. Doesnt sound like the Max was stock either with the ICE and wheels (which probably hurt performance).

No the maxima wasnt probably racing you off the line. Maximas are quick. The VQ30 motor is a beast. I know I have one. Check out maxima.org for some numbers. 1st gear on autos are sluggish but after 30mph or 40 kmh watch out. standard maximas put down some good numbers on the track.
