Some guy just called me up--I have no clue who he is but I've seen him before. He has an automatic emII. all he has is a header, a test pipe, and i think an axleback exhaust. his car actually sounds like crap! he wants to race before he boosts his car. im not sure if it is an ex or lx. i know that bolt on's or pretty much worthless for our cars so please let me know if it should be a worthwhile race (we'll prolly only get to like 80 haha). the only thing i have is catback exhaust; 2 1/4' piping.

If you've got an auto take out your spare tire and race on a 1/4 tank of gas or less... change your oil, spark plugs and air filter. You might have a chance, especially if the guy's got a system in his trunk,

ur 5speed, hes auto. he'd need quite a bit mods (a lot more than u mentioned) to beat you. i remember racing a manual civic on the 1/8th mile. by the end of that he had atleast a car and a half on me

in fact, instead of draggin, go autoX'ing, alot more challenging and takes skills.. anyone can just press downa pedal and go, but it takes skills and expereience to run though corners fast

there's nowhere to do auto X---im sure as hell not gonna go through streets doing that crap---i agree though; it does take a lot more skill to do that but i hardly ever race now b/c i've come to the conclusion i cant make my car fast---i can only make it look good.

I dunno... There was a thread on this a while ago, and a 5 spd EX vs 5 spd LX/DX is pretty well a drivers race... Certainly not enough difference to keep an auto EX close to a 5 spd LX/DX

unless the ex cant shift, theres no excuse to lose to a lx/dx. 17hp makes a diff. not a huge one, but not small enough for a dx to have a chance

Actually, it's a 12hp difference, and I've personally raced a 5speed EX with a CAI, 2nd gear roll, and I won. Mine's a 5-speed DX i/h/e and AEM pulleys..
