06 vic si vs me
well my friend just got the new si and i wanted to race him for the hell of it even though i knew i was gonna lose. So off holman rd. we go off the light and i get him off the hole and then 2nd still have him but then were even. I hit third and we are still even but then he creeps and gets me by a fender. I normally never post my kills but i just wanted to tell this story because i was suprised myself. No flaming from people that dont know what they are talking about either.

that is low weight on your part. i can't believe the si has about 40 lbs on even the old rsx... and heavy wheels.
not that that makes the si slow enough to lose to average civic drivers, props! try him in 10 thousand miles when he knows his car, and the engine is broken in (these k's take some time)

its not interesting. have any of you seen the dyno for an SI? that power doesn't come into play until almost 6k rpms. so if he didn't take it to redline, it would be very close. plus most si are loaded with crap like 17-18 rims and that lip kit.

^^^ yeah, but if he didnt take it to redline, then the race was just pointless. Revvin up the motor is what Honda engines are all about (atleast I think so) But once that needle swings up there, the Si should pull fairly hard.... I would think a stock Si wuold put about 160+WHP.

until 6k rpms, its basically equal to a 7thgen ex with i/h/e. No usable power before 6k rpms. and look at that pig rich a/f, like it has a turbo.

yea know what u guys mean. ^ he took it to redline and i thought it was gonna pull hella hard too, but who knows. Weight, suspension, and the 60 ft is what most people should focus on but people think i/h/e is what u should do and they quit on our cars.

That's what I was thinking, and as mentioned above, the K's take a while to break in.

well regardless of what dyno charts say, people are running 14's in them bone stock. kinda confirms my initial thought about this race.
wait this is like ripping on the S2000 because it makes it's best power above 6000rpm. that doesn't mean it's slow before that. and i'm willing to bet that it'd pull on a stock 7th gen off the line even BEFORE reaching 6000rpm.

but look at the torque curve, its the same as a lightly modded 7thgen is it not? what makes you think it would pull? s2k and si are completely different. ofcourse the s2k has more torque in the lower rpm.

I test drove an 8thgen Si and it destroy's my car in terms of power.
