well on sat night i had a wedding to attend. i had to drive to rosemead from orange county. everything went great and we left to go to the reception and i didnt realize i had to drive back to fullerton to attend the reception. well i had my wife and eldest daughter in the car and it seemed as though every modded car i encountered had to pull up and try to race me. now i dont race with my kids in the car and my wife will usually bitch enough for me to not even try when she is in the car. so i knew i wasnt having any fun that night. well low and behold a 240sx pulls up next to me. i looked over and he did a quick pull i assume to see what my car was like and what other mods i had besides an exhaust. when he got beside me i noticed a stock exhaust. at least that is what i thought. because as soon as he let off the gas i hear a loud pssssttt. BOOSTED! i was like ok well even if they werent in the car i know i would get my *** handed to me. my wife looks over at the guy as he taunts me by gassing it and letting go. she looks over at him and shakes her head and says "oh no we are not racing" i know he could read her lips and see her head shaking and i was like look babe i know you dont want me to race but at least spare me my dignity when someone is taunting me and let me handle it. its bad enough that this guy would hand me my **** but to have my wife telling the guy no no we are not racing was just an embaressment. so not only did the guy get the satisfaction of know he could walk me but he also got to see my wife put me in check. this was on fullerton rd right before it turns into harbor going towards imperial. mann i have to leave her at home form now on!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh hell no, i knew i would have gotten spanked with my pants down. but it just the point. my wife made me look like th ebiggest puss. i would have just ignored the guy. as a matter of fact i had another encounter with a civic the other night and i didnt do anything becasue of the kids int he car too. but she didnt catch on to the guy trying to taunt me then too. i would have walked to guy in the vic he had a full car and it has a 96-99 ex and i didnt see anything beyond a set of 15's and some springs. but in this case i just ignored the guy and that is what has to be done sometimes. but with the wife all shakin her head it makes me look like some puss

blah sux. thats nothing though. once i drive my mom to get groceries and i was accelerating on the highway. my car downshifted(auto) and all of a sudden she turned to me and started biatching me out about how i shouldnt speed and whatnot. i tried to explain that i HAD TO gas it to let this auto even keep up with traffic. but for another 10 mins, she kept going on and on in the car and whenever people passed me, i got funny looks and such....

well you have to learn when your married you have to expect bitching, secondly you cant let little things get your upset or you will spend your whole life arguing. its just not worth it. of course it got brought back up and i told her dont do that again. but there was no point in fighting over it. i know how she feels and i wasnt about to "scare" her. its already bad enough driving with her. her mom cant drive with anyone else becasue she freaks out. she has to ride in the back seat and close her eyes. i think my wife may be starting to get these sympotms herself. it did suck and made me feel like a puss but then again i wouldnt have won anyway!!

 

Well I respect you not racing, it's hard not to. My thing is anyone who get's in my car knows I will be racing! They have to assume this before they even get in. I should have a waiver to sign before they get in! P)retty much who ever don't like to drive fast or race knows not to get in. The girls i date are told this when we first start talking. HEHE Kids are another thing. I have a little 6 year old girl whos likes to drive fast. I mean a lil 30p mph to 40 punch isn't so bad or a lil burn out she likes it. I just don't get crazy and try to race threw traffic or on the freeway and things like that. I remember being a little kid and loving when my dad punched it! I have to say your doing the right thing with your kid in the car by not racing but your wife needs to be put in check homie!! lol I live right by you in Whittier and I'm always on imperial and lambert. I would love to run down a 240sx!! The last one who paced me didn't pace me for long!!

I have to agree, it's not easy not to race. I've done it a few times with my fiancee when we where dating (back when I had faster cars) and she never said anything, but I could tell she didn't like it, so I had to take it upon myself to stop when she was in the car.

my oldest daughter is the one in the car. she is 11yrs old. i am her step father but her real father isnt around EVER she has met him twice. so i am her father. well since i ahve been around she has taken an interest in cars. she is inquisitive and really wants to know certain things. she has also been buggin me about getting her into some kind of racing school. when i was up in that area i saw the speed center or what ever its called that had 1/4 scale drage and karts. that is exactly waht she wants to do. she actually eggs me on in the car to race and laughs at my wife. but out of love and respect i wont put either of them in any kind of danger especially becasue of a race spawn by testosterone and pride. i also have a 3.5 yr old and she is a blast too. both girls. luckily the oldest like cars or i would be pushing to have another to try for a boy.

after I got into my major accident last Oct, my g/f always gets very worried when I accelerate hard..... thats kind of how I got into my accident in the 1st place. It is tough not to race when ppl are taunting you and what not, but remember, your family, possibly your most important possession, is at risk when you race. I should know b/c when I hit the guard rail at well over speed limits, I was with my g/f all b/c I couldnt stand the fact that her friend put on the hazards when we werent racing in the 1st place. Now adays I only race ppl I know.... b/c I am sure within myself that if I race, and if I win, but the other person does a fly-by and throws the hazards, I will flip and do something stupid.

You did the smart thing man. I give you props for it. The same thing happens to me. Some v6 passat did the samething to me in traffic. I thought he was a Fu%ken idiot for trying to do it doing rush hr traffic.

Anyways i feel for ya. I remember my ex told me a story about how when she was with her old bf he was racing down a hill and he couldn't stop in time and hit a SUV going 50mph. Thats why she hates civics. I told her you should love civics if you hit something that weighs 1000lbs more then you going 50mph and still lived to talk about it. That proves civics are safe cars.

you think!!! but i do love my vic. it will get built and i will also have a faster car to screw around with in the near future. i want to build it to be a fun little track car for auto crossing and maybe some drag on the bottle. i am not building it to race on the street. but i am also looking at a few other cars right now for a project drag and this one will continue to be a daily driver as its built

How weird I just raced one tonight! Needless to say he didn't pull at all more like got pulled. It was a nissan sentra sr20 swap. This guy wanted to try it out. He liked beating on GSR's and Acoords. Till I ran him. Maybe your thinking of 3rd GEN.

Your eclipse is lucky to be running high 14's with your mods. and i'm talking maybe 14.9. a sentra with an SR20det swap is good for better than that. you raced a craptastic driver, or you raced someone foolish enough to swap in the non turbo version, at which point you might as well brag about your geo metro kills too.
