ran at pomona raceway this weekend

I thought I would give the bracket racing a try. So I went to the nhra sport compact finals at pomona. I was running all motor since n20 is kind of inconsistant. I did .2 seconds better than my previous best. I ran a 15.541
@88.47 mph I did this 2 times the first day so I dialed in on that time. Running heads up I beat a v6 tiburon, and humiliated a 1999 si. ( he ran a 16.0) I got thru the first round with a 15.58 and redlighted the second round. One of the guys I was kicking back with got into the semifinals but deepstaged by accident and redlighted.
Fun times Cool car show, bikinis, the works. I gotta try this more.
I only saw one other 7th gen there a black one. I am not sure what he ran he didn;t show for the 2nd day. A 2004 si hatch ran a 15.6 as his best time.
I was pretty proud of the d17

not too bad. but honestly i was hoping for better. who did your head work?? i am actually going for the whole crower package myself. stg2 cam and springs/retainers having protflow do the porting and headwork. same shizz basically with cam gear but tuning will be done with emanage. the difference is i am a lx going to a ex head and such. i am hoping for a high 14 and on spray a high 13. it makes me wonder if they over ported your head. how much hp did you make from the work???

My cam gear is still untuned. **** Head Racing did the port work (they suck but it actually made power) . It made power over what it used to be. The few dyno runs I have done have been roughly 5-10 whp over cars with similar mods but no head work. If you can make your 7th gen hit 14's all motor with out building the lower end you will be my hero.

Have you ran your car yet?

yup the first day was just to get and idea of what you dial in would be. also for the pro guys it was qualifying. the second day was eliminations.
I took out a blue si coupe with a carbon trunk in the first round and redlighted against an old red swapped turbo datsun the second round.
Lots of fast cars.

no i have not run or dyno'd the car as of yet. i have a very busy life consisting of 2 little girls my wife and lately ive had to support my mother/father in law. so i have had to work a lot of hours. but times and dynos will come with this work. i am purchasing the cam and springs/retainers in about a week(gotta wait for another check) and then i am dropping off the head to dynmaics and they send it to portflow for the head work. i will have them assemble the head and swap it on while i am working. i would be doing the work normally but i seriously do no have the time lately. after all is installed i will have dymanics tune it with emanage on their dyno. for final figures. i am going to try to squeez in a before dyno as well. but that will be with the lx head before i do the swap.
