makes you scream !
makes you scream !
So I was cruising on highway 13 north, windows down, and there came my exit. There are two lanes for this particular exit and of course leaving the option to overtake. I took the rightmost lane because I wasn't feeling particularly ready to make my engine scream : it was around 11pm and I had just finished my shift. Somehow, as if god himself sets up traps for you only when you feel tired, this hyundai in front of me starts braking at around 60mph, for no apparent reason. I really didn't feel like leaving him in the dust, so I break too, till I reach around 30mph (2nd-gear territory). Left lane is clear and adrenaline quickly takes me over, letting a quick shiver traverse my body as I smoothly shift to second and gun it. Redline second, halfway through third, I check my rearview mirror. Sure enough, the hyundai dude is far faaar away. Just as I thought everything was set, a pair of blue halogen lights appears just behind me, a couple hundred meters behind. The car was low too, and the lights made me think it was a ferrari or some other crazy car. I'm like whatever, plenty of those around, not really worth aweing at.
With that in mind, I pull to the right to let this sports car pass, since hey, I didn't feel like stading in the way of a crazy driver behind a 500hp+ car gaining on me as if I were standing still. Just for the heck of it I felt like seeing what car it was, since obviously it was not your average four-door sedan.
Now imagine the sound of a stock civic exhaust being slowly replaced by an increasingly louder, almost thunderous roar of a porsche mixed with a little bit of ferrari F1's exhaust, invading the air, almost suffocating you with its sheer force. That's exactly what I heard as this mystery car was closing in. At the last possible moment, I had the honor of seeing the side of a car, for something like half a second. I couldn't believe it, my jaw dropped as I read the side emblem : S2000. Still in shock for the next few moments, I couldn't help letting out an overexcited "WHOO!" as the mystery car was now quickly melding with its surroundings, like a panther enjoying its newly found freedom.
Away went the boredom of hearing my own engine turn, the excitement of breathing that car's innervated roar pass me by to leave a huge void in my being : an insatiable lust of driving one myself.
