Got my *** handed to me

So I know that I said that I was done racing, but this was not technically a race; more like one car going fast and the other trying to keep up. So I found a loop hole in my rule LOL. I was just driving enjoying the weather when I pulled up next to a very nice looking 03-04 mustang GT. The light turns green and I am not really thinking race, because I know what would happen. So I slowly begin to roll, but then I realize I am being paced so I hold first and keep up and then I hear the v-8 go and man did it go. We started at around 20 or so and and by the time I shifted into third 55-60 the mustang had a full two cars and pulling fast. We both let off at around 65-70 and I must say I was very impressed by what that car could do. The driver on the other hand was not so great because they hit the rev limiter in 2nd and then proceeded to compleatly miss 3rd. The funny thing was that through the flow off traffic I ended up next to and then infront of them and I swear that there is an outside chance that it may have been a girl driving

damn son, are you sure your VTEC kicked in? when he mis shifted you should of down shifted to 1st at around 60 and blew by him.

BTW, were there 2 drivers in the Mustang?

well by the way they were shifting there may have been a midgit doing the foot work and the driver steering and shifting gears. Not to sure though

The one that I drove was around a 99 and the shifter was at a 45 degree angle. That was tough to drive just getting out of my civic and into it. I don't think that the 03-04 have the same style of shifter though.

The 99-04's are all the same body style, but the 99 - mid-01's had the T5, which is much worse for the 2-3 shift than the mid-01+ cars' 3650. Either way, an aftermarket short-shifter is pretty much a MUST on any Mustang. With the stock shifter, you miss the 2-3 shift almost as many times as you hit it.... but it's nothing a Steeda Tri-ax can't fix. Oh, and nice death... not surprising, of course, but still interesting. Take it to the track, next time, too.
