Yesterday on my way to meet with the wednesday crew I had a black jetta with a big VW sticker in the back window, and a "JETTA" sticker across the front. You know. just in case someone were to mistake it for a viper or something...

The guy seemingly wanted to race, but every chance he had was in traffic and I'm not a fan of that. He got on it a few times but i wasn't going to run him with people around.

Eventually, he was behind me and riding my @ss. I was in the right lane slowly passing a car on the left. It was clear road ahead of us. I knew what he was planning on doing, so rather then let him get next to me, I downshifted to 4th and gave it some gas to accelerate. He kept right behind me so I slammed it to 2nd and took off. After leaving him way behind I slowed down. After that he never got within 50 feet of me and stayed back. I think I might have scurred him off a bit.

On the way home from our gathering, I caught the attention of an OLD camaro. I'd say early 90's. Pre-LT1. It was obnoxious because the dude's passenger kept yelling about how his V6 was so much faster than my 4 cylinder. And how 4 cylinder engines are so slow, that honda should at least have put a V6 in, and hell if I know what else he was saying. I finally leaned over the side, downshifted and said "what? I can't hear you over the sound of my 4 cylinder whupping your @ss". With that I started to go a little, and I heard his "beast" downshift. 2 gears later he was not much more than a spec in the rear view. Damn kids.

Lastly, I'm on the way home from work today and this car comes zipping up behind me on the freeway. He's riding my butt, but with his cargo (i'll get to that in a minute) I figure he's just in a hurry. So I move out of the left lane (going 75mph) to the middle lane.

He gets next to me, and a girl in the passenger seat starts checking out my car. Rather than passing, he gets next to me and revs, looks over, and does the speed up/slow down thing. Yes. That's right kids. Some tool, in a chevy malibu, with his ugly girlfriend, and a FRIGGIN CANOE STRAPPED TO THE TOP OF HIS CAR..... is revving on me. On the freeway. At 75mph. I didn't even get a chance to respond with much more than a hysterical laugh as my exit came up and I left the freeway. I've now seen it all.

Gah.. I can never get these idiots to even look over at me. I like putting people to shame, but with my exhaust ive had people tell me I sound like a V-8 at idle, so I may be scaring them off.
