Good Driver

I am posting this in the Track/Street/Strip area becasue i wanna hear from you guys who talk about a drivers race and all.

I just wanna know what makes a good driver and hear some tips from you guys such as luanching tips and if after the launch you just dump the clutch on the rest of the shifts, thanks a lot.

practice. go at like 3 in the morning on some street thats empty for the night. try taking off slowly, then see how you like it, then go a little faster. work on the shifting alot. turn of the car and practice the motion of shifting. if you don't want to wear the cables out then go to a junk car with a stick and do it. try not to shift too hard, meaning don't try to push the stick past where it can go. try not to halfway shift. don't drop the clutch at hi revs unless your trying to burn your clutch out. good luck. practice. thats what i did when i got the car. good luck

dumping the clutch in some cases will hurt acceleration. Launch, takes practice... many variables, such as tire pressure, clutch life, tire you have, and more.....

Vantage should not be trusted
If ur running big power, preload ur tranny by pulling e-brake then having the clutch out a bit so the car "sinks" then u wont blow CV shafts like u do with dropping the clutch. NEVER drop the clutch tho, very hard on everything, u want to release it slowly, my old car was 3 seconds. After the lights i would count down from 3 before i totally released the clutch and put the gas in WOT. This will be different in any car, becuase if i didnt do this i woulda spun all the way threw 1st. Also, work on ur shifting, this can really make or break a good run, and u can make up a lot of time if u can throw a good shift. and altho i never did it myself. U can always shift without the clutch for faster throws. just take foot off gas, ram that bitch into gear and right back on the gas. another trick that takes practice to get fast is, when shifting, pop ur car outa gear without the clutch, and just TAP the clutch to get it in gear. This will not hurt ur tranny, but it is an easier way to shift faster and keep ur rev's up. CAuse the second u push in the clutch u will lose rev's. Basically pratice, with some pointers is the best u can do.

Try to keep wheel hop to a minimum. As redline04 said, new mounts will work. u can also get a traction bar( dunno if they make them for 7th gen's yet) and that will help. Also, try to eliminate bogging by keeping the tires slipping, but not spinning( u will know ur doing it when u do it) this will keep ur RPM's high and not let u bog. feathering the gas will let u do this. dont be scared, ur RPM's wil jump up fast but they will usually stay around 6000 till your tires grip, u should feel when they grip, then the RPM's will start climbing as normal. Then keep ur foot down and away u go.

My thought is that I have silverstars and the mounts add alot of vibration to the frame and eventually it breaks the filaments. I seem to be ok as long as I don't start the car with the lights already on (instant vibration to hot filaments)
