Rep Power: 266 lost to 180sx
raced a 180 sx nissan with turbo, couldnt tell by engine or nothing, but I was pretty sure it was engine swapped and that it would beat me. Still went for it, the guy beat me by 2 car length by third.

Rep Power: 0 Theres turbo kits available for the 180SX engine (KA18 is it? Or something like that?) that give it a pretty impressive output. Same with the KA24 in 240SXs, not all non-swapped 180/240SXs are pigs.

Rep Power: 374 What are you talking about LOL. There is no 180sx in America, only the hacthback 240sx, before and after mc until 94. 190sx's were only available in Japan and came with a 205 hp turbo "blacktop" SR20DET engine, which is almost identical (sp) to the redtop from an S13. It ran off a T25 BB turbo system, I beleive the only diff from the 180sx blacktop to the redtop was sometihng to do with the throttle body, but I don't quite remeber. What you lost to was a Nissan 240sx with most likley a red top engine. Black tops from a true 180sx are vary rare =)

240sx HB
Real similar, but have their differnces (like what country they are available in) The main easy difference is their tailights, 180sx have a differn't tailight setup than it's 240sx HB brethren. It could have been a "180sx conversion" from a 240, but it's not a real 180 unless it was shipped over I'm a nerd....

Rep Power: 266 he had bov but it was quiet where you had to listen very carefully to hear it. I thought it was 180sx or something cause it had a sticker on the side window. also his tail lights were altezza like, plus I am nissan illiterate.

Rep Power: 0 what engines do the 240s run on?
i thought that the 180s were called 180s simply because they ran the ca18's i cant imagine nissan cranking out something like an sr24 det caust i havent ever heard of one before....
and yes the rear lights look different to the 240s in a 180.
generally the 180s have the two seperate bulb housings perr light housing visible whereas the 240s generally follow the red and orange horizontal color schemes.
if that made any sense what so ever... i dont think it did cause when i re read what i wrote it sorta confused me a tad bit

Rep Power: 374 The US speck 240's came with the KA24DE, The JP spec nissan same with the SR20, including the 180sx. The differnce was that the 180sx came with a black top SR20DET, which had some ECU modifications, but it was quite similar to the Redtop SR20DET found in the S13, then the S14 and S15 had similar later model SR motors, with the S14 version pushing out 225 and the S15, thanks to larger injectors and a ball bearing turbo pushed out just around 250 hp. I believ the CA18 your talkign about came in the early version "bluebirds."

Rep Power: 0 ^ thank you.
tho im pretty sure that the ca18s came in the 180 sxs here in aus cause i know a few ppl who own them and every single one of them came with the ca18 and most of them have had sr20 swaps and some with rb30det ( from the patrols) heads slapped on
nissan bluebird with a ca18 det?
**** love to see that
( not being sarcastic, i actually would really like to see one cause we thrashed the **** out of one in the bush and dumped it but a turbo version would be a whole lot sicker)
