I met this guy with a 5.0 last night. He was a cocky bastard, I didnt even try fighting with him. He has a stock motor, built transmission, and an old POS. haha. He was like, ill whoop on you even though your turbo'd. Im like, you probably will, considering you have a 5 liter, and mine is 1.7. And about 15 other times that night, "Ill whoop on you." He also said, I hate how turbos sound. They are quiet. I bring him & our friend for a ride in my car that sounds 100 times better than his. Our friend was like, DAMN!!!!!, and says, I dont know what your thinking, but his car sounds freakin sick. (was talking about my car). He also said it hauls a**. I dont think the 5.0 would have a chance honestly.

This dude was like, how much is into your car, 10gs, I said yeah, right around there. Hes like, well I only have 700 into my car. I was just thinking, yeah, and your car is a POS. I didnt feel like starting a fight with some stuck up american driving POS Ford. I hate people like that. There are people that are cool as hell w/american cars. Some like imports, some like cars that are fast period. Some are stupid little sh**s.

I thought Id share a story with you. I also whooped a v6 accord (not a biggie) and an impala got scared when my tired spun all through first. the impala coulda eaten me up I think. It sounded so freakin nice/clean, and arent they a v8?

i think people forget, that up untill 2001, a v6 mustang only made 150 HP, then in 2001 they made 200, but they are still slower than **** and any EX should be able to take 1.

99+, they made 190 hp, 01+ 193 hp.

a 99+ v6 manual will beat any ex, good try though

for 99+ Mustangs, V8 will say either "GT", "MACH1" or "SVT" on the back. GT's will have that emblem on the sides ... the rims are different for all ... V6's will have one muffler, V8's will have two

depends what year. I think a 5 speed can take a pre 99 auto.

but with 5 spd and auto, you're comparing apples to oranges

Rustang, how clever. Anyway, a 5-speed Civic can outdrive and beat an auto 99-04 V6, but a 5-speed V6 shouldn't have any trouble with one. There's probably only a handful of lightly modded N/A civics on here that could hang with my V6 when it was stock, but even then, but a really good driver in the Civic and a crappy driver in the Stang, and the outcome could change.

Umm, nope... they aren't. Manual '05 V6's can do high 14's, 99-04 GT's can do high 13's. They are about as fast as the 94-98's. Oh, and 5.0's aren't too fast, stock.

SOME are pretty fast. Possibly a early 90's LX 5.0 going low 14's/ high 13's, but it just gets worse from there with a lot of the 80's 5.0's having less than 200hp and that combined with an auto and/or vert and you've got some crappy times. BTW, I said not TOO fast... as in, a little faster than the 94-98's and slower than the 99-04's. Of course they can get pretty fast with not too much money.

Are they average? No, but they can be done. The Manual 05 V6's haven't been out long, but have dyno'd 190+ whp and over 200wtq stock. Also, several Auto's have gone consistent 15.1's so high 14's will happen w/ the manual, but low low 15's would be average for a good driver.

Also, 99-04 GT's can definately do high 13's. PLENTY of them have gone as low as 13.7's and Mustang mags have done it as well. In addition to that, my friend's GT went 14.1@98 his first time to the track in 75deg, very humid weather, with a 60' time of 2.1 which could certainly be improved upon. Also, my Bullitt GT went 14.2@100 only the 3rd time I'd ever DRIVEN it, and my 14.2@100 was the FIRST time I'd ever launched it. In that case, my 60' was a fairly crappy 2.2, which is no faster than the times I can pull with my open differential V6. Oh, and it was 90degrees/high humidity that day. My GT is EASILY capable of high 13's with a little more practice... in fact, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords took a STOCK Bullitt GT to a 13.5. Once again, average bests for a stock 99-04 GT is probably around 14.2 or so, but they are certainly capable of high 13's and it's been done many times.

the v6 autos are slow enough for us. the v8's are quicker but when they dyno'd the GT at A'pexi, it put down about 208whp.

I understand. There are plenty of people online who make up crap, so it's understandable to want more proof. So, what do you want? My timeslip? Magazine scan?

Clearly that was either a 94-98 or an Auto 99-04 GT. That is a fairly typical dyno for an auto 99-04 GT. Of course, tq is much higher, but the auto transmission really wastes a lot of power. A stock manual would put down ~230whp +/- 10whp and ~260wtq.

hmm...well the 05 v6 auto's are a lot quicker because they're 5-speed...so they're about on par with the manuals. the run a low 15....and the 99-04 gt runs a low 14.
