lol....yeah i guess all honda and toyota lovers can all agree that we wouldn't drive a neon. Trannies, i think toyota probably makes the best. At least auto wise, not sure about the manuals. I've driven both toyota, honda and a gm car. I love my honda, but it doesn't shift as smoothly as my toyota did.

And considering that all of the test drives and timeslips I have EVER seen put the EX at mid 16s in the 1/4 mile, I would love to see the driver that was "proven" to run a 15.8. Wow, almost a full second faster than all of the legitimate tests out there for a stock EX. Just look it up yourself, there are tons of tests out there one them. And adding an intake and exhaust still would not put you in the lead. And even the right NA mods would not "Own" me, MAYBE beat the tC but not own.
I guess you a missunderstanding my point which is that if I were a TC driver I would not look at a civic and think that I had it won. your car is just as fast as a Si some may argue that it is a bit faster, but I would have to see it for myself (and don't even post the vid with the fat kid that can't drive). I have raced only one Si and there is one other person on this forum who knows what the results of what I would call a shiity run by me were.

There NO way an EX without major modifications will even come CLOSE to outrunning a tC unless the driver of the tC has no clue what they are doing. I own a tC, and have embarrassed a few EX drivers already. The tC has almost 40 more horsepower, way more torque and MUCH better track times. I give Honda its due credit, and there are some stock models that will blast a tC, but the EX is a gas sipping grocery getter, thats it!! It is a nice car, and is reliable, but thats about it. Just the other night some little boy in an EX with a nasty sounding fart can underneath revved his engine at me and tried to race... and promptly had his *** handed to him, it was great entertainment! Saying that an EX will outrun a tC stock for stock would be like me saying my tC will outrun an rsx-s, which would be about as even as the EX vs tC. Even with an intake and exhaust, it would be no match for the EX. Some of you forget that a number of us have spent considerable amount of time under a hood (not just bolting on an intake) and know what is bs and what is a legitimate claim. It just makes you look bad to spew bs out like that. Like what you drive, whether or not it can outrun so and so... You drive a quality Honda product, no need to mess it up by claiming such nonsense!

Listen guy, it all depends on who is driving the tC and the EX, damn son.
Like if Paul Walker was driving the tC and Vin Diesel was driving the EX it would of been close cuz Walker has a heavy foot, damn son.
Like if yo, check dis, if Vin Diesel would be driving the tC, damn yo son, it wouldn't even be close yo, you put a dude with a heavy foot like Paul Walker behind an EX vs a dude like Diesel in a tC its over, damn son yo.
You got anything to spit we can freestyle this all the way, ya heard me?

Honestly i think the problem starts from the company leadership. GM announced awhile ago that to go back to profitability from sagging sales was to cut costs and get rid of some of their brands like pontiac and buick.
They don't realize people don't buy american cars with the exception of American SUV's and Trucks is not because their expensive, its because their cars are crap when compared to similar Japanese models. Its not because the car's too expensive. Domestics in general as priced lower then imports for similar equipped models, but people still buy the imports because they don't break after 20k miles.
They should work on making better cars rather then cheaper cars and that would fix there sagging sales.
On a side note, America is still the leader in making weapons lol. The whole world loves American Weapons. Bush announced that he was gonna sell F-16's to Pakastan and India.

If you think that your AVERAGE driver in a tC is going to do consistently better than that, you aren't as smart as you claim.

Rep Power: 279 OK take a look at this.
http://www.modernracer.com/sciontc.html
Scion 0-60 is 7.5
http://216.239.63.104/search?q=cache...upe+0-60&hl=en
Civic EX Coupe 0-60 is 7.51 seconds man what a huge *** dif. I bet the scion TC's are really blowing past us at 1/100 of a sec.
Just b/c a car has more HP doesnt mean ****. The Civic SI has 160 hp and its 0-60 time is 7.4 seconds.

And you just said it yourself by comparing an EX with a very good driver to a tC with an average driver. And as far as someone mentioned about HP being built, not bought, what the F*** does that have to do with any of this? I too know about building horsepower, since I have had about 15 years experience building and working on engines. No one said anything about building horsepower. I was just stating that it is ignorant to go around making stupid claims... I dont go around saying that I outran a type s last night... cause anyone with even a shred of common sense would know better, unless granny was driving the type s. And as far as the rude and obviously adolescent replies that dont make much sense... go out and polish your fart can exhaust and buy yourself a turbonator.... it fits right with your obvious lack of knowledge

OMG, lol... that site is a load of crap. Links mislead and not found all over the place. I clicked th civic sI and "Saturn Ion" popped up. I clicked "Civic HX" and a picture of an STi popped up, wtf? . Sorry, but an sI/tC/rsx runs 0-60 in 7.5secs... no way in gods green earth is a stock ex doing that. Here ya go:
Civic Ex 0-60
Anyways, next thing you know somebody will actually "KILL" a tC owner .
Let's do a recap
stock vs. stock = tC
AT tC vs. MT vic = Driver's Race
tC 0-60 = Mid 15's
EX 0-60 = Mid 16's (ive done my research, I can post my theories)
To end my rant: Im gonna finish playing GT4!

civic 1/4 mile high 15's/flat 16.
your average tC driver will probably be high 15's/flat 16's. so really, if you have a great driver in a civic, he can/would beat or tie an average driver in a tC.
but given equal drivers the tC will win. no one is debating that.

Rep Power: 0 I've seen two TC's at the track and the were both running low 16's. I wasn't impressed, probally just shitty drivers though. They are nice for the price and all the amenties they come with but they are too heavy for my liking. When you factor in the 300-400lb weight diff between EX and TC all that extra power is somewhat negated. I think it all depends on the driver, but in most cases stock for stcok the TC should win.
Let your TC buddies know if there is anyone around the Shreveport LA/East Texas with lightly modded NA TC's I'll be happy to run my not so stock econobox against them.

all this 15.8 civic ex crap is getting old. yall had ONE person post times in that range...that means the rest of you were no where near it. i kno this cuz i read the thread where he proved he did it. NO ONE belived him untill he posted slips...do you know why? cuz it is an un-frickin-believable time...i give it to you...that guy can run wit my manual 5spd tC....the average civc driver cant...do you know why thats a fair comparison? cuz i am an average manual driver...actually...i suck at driving manual...this is my first standard car...i dun go around claiming to make the best times. but a manual civic with a good driver wont be a drivers race against a tC. the automatic...i dont know....granted the tC has a nice torque curve it handles a auto tranny much better than most honda's can... who knows about that...the auto may just be beaten....but i will leave you with this - i/h/e all sacrifice low end....the tC has very good low end for its weight and size...

Ok so you guys are still comparing the TC and the EX. According to you guys the best EX runs 15.8s, and i can believe that because every car is different, and different drivers are capable of different things. However, you are comparing the best EX run to the TC's average run. The TC's average run is between 15.6-16s. However there has been one post (proven with timeslip) that showed a stock TC run a 15.3. So either you should compare both cars best runs 15.3 vs 15.8, or both cars average runs 15.7 vs 16.1. TC wins. Stop fighting about which car is faster and looks better. If you want to really see which car is faster, race each other and tape it. Make like a best out of 3 or sumthing. And Hondas2000 man, please dont even compare a s2000 to a tc. Thats like comparing your s2000 to a e55.
