Who would win?

I was pondering this matchup the other day! Put an H22 VTEC 2.2L and a K20 VTEC from an RSX Type S 2.0L put identical mods on them! Who would win? Initally i would say the H would win because of its size but then again i have to give the benefit of the doubt for the K because of its smaller size! What do you guys think?

Hard to tell.

Given the fact that the K20 has a 3-stage variable lift system, while the H22 only has 2.... I'd say that the K20 is more likely to be more "on cam" at any given point, allowing for more aggressive and precise tuning. Having that middle cam makes a big difference when it comes to keeping torque curves flat.

Weight shouldn't be an issue, since the (probably) slightly heavier H22 has a few extra ft-lbs to make up for it.

What's the application, and what are the mods?

h22 has way more torque while the k20 has few more hp. I would put my money on the h22, but they are about equal.

By identical mods i mean same turbo(assuming that the same turbo would fit both engines) same intake same exhaust same headers cams camshafts etc. Basically two fully built motors with the exact same parts.

Given the extra 200 lbs that the prelude has, as well as the K-series' history for being extremely mod friendly, Id put the cash on the RSX.

I got these tissues that require a Greddy E-Manage tuning minutes in order for them to work properly with the camber adjustment

How the hell can you predict the winner of a race between 2 cars when you dont even know what 2 cars (make/model) are racing?

I did mention a 2.2L PRELUDE VTEC V. 2.0L RSX TYPE-S both with their stock motors but both fully built with the exact same mods including size of mods too!

if they are both fully built and what not, i will say the h22

at the end of the day, with equal mods, there is no replacement of displacement

Yeah but how good was the driver of the hatch? He must not have been as good as the k20 driver! I have a friend who has a turbo h22 and he flushed a vortech supercharged s2000 down the toilet! i think if an h22 can take an F20 then it can most definately take a k20!
