IS300 Suprise!
I was just crusin downtown looking for a shop i heard that may be hiring auto tech students. Anyways, on my way home, on highway 70 this white IS300 got beside me. i sped up a lil', and so did he. I slowed down a sec, and so did he. So then i layed on the gas and let off with a pretty loud PSSSSSSSSH. Then to my suprise, he layed on the gas and let off with a PSSSSSSSH of his own

We didn't go at it cuz i knew, and i'm pretty sure he knew, i'd lose, haha. We knodded respectfully and went about our ways.

I'm not so sure you should go that far. Here is a NON supra bottom end 2jz engine boosted with a single turbo, no nitrous, on pump gas, clutch slipping and 1000cc injectors maxing out.
fastest IS300 so far on the board.
I wouldn't say that a supra is WAY BEYOND .... care to rethink it?

a stock supra turbo can be pushed to the 600+ whp range on stock internals. the stock turbo can be used to reach 850+whp. not to mention it's RWD. sorry but i dont see any IS300's running a stock engine with stock internals and a turbo doing anything near that, much less being FWD.

Rep Power: 0 s2000man......Just wanted to correct you. In stock form, Supras have 2 turbos. Not one. Oh and the IS300 is in fact RWD. Also I have yet to see a Supra with stock turbos put down anywhere near 850whp. Hook me up if you have proof. Not trying to bust your ***** bro. Just correcting you.

the supra and the IS300 share the same engine basically. The inline 6 2jz toyota engine is in both. The supra turbo model obviously is slightly different. Maybe you should do some research before you post the info. The dyno above was an IS300 you realize almost hitting 1000hp.
if you swap to the supra bottom end you will easily hit over 1000.
The tranny is different in the IS300 and supra. The supra uses a 6 speed, but many members on is300.net have swapped to the supra tranny when they push over 500hp.
the stock internals are basically the same....so yes the engine is a beast. It's one of the strongest internal engines out there, which is why the is300 can boost just like the supra can. The supra can come twin turbo stock though, which the IS300 doesn't have. The parts are interchangable though, so most people boosted on the board are right in line with the supra.
And yes the supra can go over 1000hp. But it needs different turbos, and internal work done at that, as does the is300.

basically think of it as a SLIGHTLY younger brother to the Supra.
and they are both RWD. If you want to see dynos of an is300 doing almost 1000hp I can show you.

to me, that means that if guys are swapping is 300 parts out and putting supra parts in, then supra > is300.
i'm not saying the is300 can't be fast. but i am saying that the supra > is300. your own post here confirms that. otherwise is300 owners wouldn't be swapping supra parts in. granted some of the engine is shared with the supra, but you admit in your post the supra got the better parts of the ones that aren't.
that's the point i'm making.

you're right. the is300 can be fast... when you turn it into a supra.
show me dynos of is300's NOT running a supra bottom end or supra tranny or parts, and i gaurantee you the supra with the same amount of mods will push more hp and be faster.

A heavily modified supra is almost the same as a heavily modified is300. The dyno proved that, which was on the IS300 BLOCK. NOT the supra block, which I posted. So the IS300 is capable of hitting those #s which is right there with the supra. Yes they swap parts. You think a stock clutch from a supra can take 1000hp? No, and they both use basically the same upgraded clutches, internals, etc.

you don't have to TURN the IS300 into the supra. Basically it is a supra.
that dyno is a IS300 bottom end. The tranny is the same that an upgraded Supra would use. It's a modified tranny, not a stock supra tranny.
yes it will be faster.

but we both agree supra > is300. which is more of the point i was trying to make initially. it just came out bad.

yes supra> is300. But I'd much rather own the IS. It can be very much a sleeper. How about if he drove up next to the guy pushing almost 1000 wheel hp. That's a huge wake up call in a 4 dr lexus.

I like the is300, almost identical engines as the supra... just something about owning a supra is beautiful. Honestly, I rather have a supra than a boosted is300, but not to take away from it, ive seen these cars put on massive, monster HP/TRQ! They are sleepers.
