IS300 Suprise!
the is300 is a baby supra. it runs the N/A 2jz power plant run by some supras. slap a turbo on that bad boy and its in the same power class. i'm also guessing the is300 is lighter than the supra, because supras are pretty damn heavy. 3,000 lbs +. either way, the supra and is300 are deffenitly related to each. no question about that.

I dont think the ge is all that bulletproof, a cuple of guys at is300.net have blown motors @ 400+ Im pretty sure they were stock bottoms... Strong but Id say the gte has the bullet proof components

we shouldn't be talking about supra>is300
we should simply mention 2jzgte>2jzge
the 2jzge without extensive modification, will only handle up to about 400rwhp. the 2jzge is missing some crucial parts that make the 2jzgte run, such as the oil sprayers and less beefy pistons. the 2jzge also runs higher compression
and if you guys like the is300 with the 2jzge, why don't the sc300 get any love? the sc300 runs the same 2jzge or 1jzgte in japan (soarer)
plus, the sc300 can be had for about 3500-5000 dollars

^^that's my car.
I was in Kinston and remember driving next to someone. Not sure if it was you man. Let me know. If so, I'm always down for a run. Just too many johnny's around this area and I just moved into the area so trying to keep a low profile.
I was actually up there getting some CAM2 at that texeco station on 70/55.
Hit me up. Are there any other boosted peeps in the area. Any gtg's, races, etc?
Lots of bad info on the 2jz in this thread.
the GE on the supra na, is, gs, and sc are all basically the same. they don't have the oil squirters, forged pistons and rods and that's about it for the block. the pistons on the gte are slightly dished so they are a little lower compression. the head is the difference as it's ported slightly different and most GTE's don't have VVTI. The GTE is the designation for the head and 2jz is for the shortblock.
the 2jz-ge on the IS is easily made to 300whp on stock compression w/ a s/c or t/c. w/ headgasket only it goes to the 365 - 415whp range fairly easy. It takes a little more and you can get to the high 400's. Going into the 500's on pump gas takes some money. The auto holds the power well, but the stock 5spd's limit is about 350whp give or take.
there's more than a few IS's in the 700whp range and as you saw 1 deep into the 900's. quite a few in the 600's and some in the 500's.
supra is capable of about 500whp on it's stock twins and fuel system then you have to upgrade. The GTE is capable of about 850whp on the stock bottom end, but you better think of building it before then. The 2jzge on the IS is reliable to about 450-500whp on the stock bottom end.
cool forum guys and I'll see ya around hopefully.

^^lol Eternal I just saw the "Have Boost or Performance ?'s, PM me!" and had a flashback to the days when you were just asking questions about the tsi kit. It's like watching your own kids grow up, you went from how the heck does the tsi kit work to hell ya i waste everyone! =) Nice to see your progress bro. And now back to your regularly scheduled thread...
yo bro. yep I remember seeing you at the light. my memory is ****. I was headed toward NewBern and saw you next to that semi and let the bov go. Nice i/c!
Hopefully the weather will hold out and I'll head up there this weekend and maybe we'll make a run of it w/ the cobra too. stop, roll, whatever, it's all fun. we could even do it legal like at the 1/4 if ya want.
hit ya back w/ a PM.
