Theres another jacka$$ in school to go along with the one in my stratus post that has a Jetta. I was wondering if I could take him? The only thing I know about his car is that its a silver 4dr. automatic, TDI?? and it runs on diesel...would I beat this in a straight up race (I have 2dr. EX 5spd.)??

Rep Power: 788 I never thought anything could be slower than an auto vic until I drove that base jetta. Omg no power at all and you gotta redline it just to keep up with traffic.

Rep Power: 0 Mm, base Jetta still has the old 2.0, I think God made that thing on the 8th day or something, its old as hell.
I wouldn't bash diesel too much though, great engines, look at the new Mercedes CDi model, they're niiice. Those TDIs have amazing range too, not to mention that chipping them tends to add power really quickly, as is true w. any diesel app, even though it makes em run a little rich.
As someone who used to own a VW w. the 2.0L in it I can attest to it's crappiness. It has an unexpectedly high top speed for such a small, crummy engine though.
