130 for sure
i was going to school tihs morning and the highway was complety open, it was a straight stretch, of about 5 miles, no turns, no cops no other cars. so from my speed of 80 i dropped it into 4th and wanted to see what it would do. At about 103 i shifted into 5th and the rev limiter bounced and shut me down at 130. in only took it up to that speed because i knew there were no cops because i had just got off the phnone with my friend about 5 minutes earlier, that had pasted the same strip, and i have never sceen a cop on this stretch in my 5 quarters of driving to school. And it was clear of all traffic besides a little light traffic in the right lane of a 4 lane highway. So, to anwser the question of our cars it is in fact 130.

yes you do have a speed limiter. why? because your redline in last gear in both the auto and manual transmission exceeds the speed rating on the oem tires. therefore, ntsa and dot require that a speed limiter be set on the car that is equal to or below the maximum speed rating on the tires. it's a federal law.
so yes, you have a speed limiter that should be between 130-135 on the ex.

and speedometers can lie. 130 may only be 127. or 125. factor in aftermarket wheels and it could be even slower than that. or faster. so this debate may never have a totally accepted answer for how fast the max speed is for those who only believe the speedometer.

I'm thinking it may use a particular rpm to determine when to give the random misses on the ignition coils which cause the car to limit it's speed.

ok well my setup is 205/40/17, (a little smaller and about 15 ounds lighter than stock than stock), stock suspension at this time, cai, and axel back, and a tuned VAFCII. i have everything else stock for winter. i do agress that maybe the speedo may be off, but shouldn't be by much.

4% from what i remember when i plugged those into the TC here on the site...only cuz i run those same tires and they set up these speed things here in CA in a construction area...my needles point at 80 and it tells me i'm doing 77...could be i didn't align my s7 guages correctly either, but still....so yeah, i agree the speedo is off
edit: i freaked myself out going 120 one time...i dunno how long you were going for...
