stick shift, there was a member who ran a 15.8.
an lx should be able to run very close to what an ex does. (though the ex will be a bit faster)

call BS all you want.
we all did too. he posted a timeslip, a video of the actual run itself, and then even video taped his car inside and out, engine bay and all, and that **** was stock from front to back.
i had this argument already with another member in another thread. so i'm not going to get into it again. it ended when i finally posted the video of him running the 15.8.
so. yes, he ran a 15.8 stock. no bs.

I have a video of a "stock" civic running 15.7. I find it hard to believe though unless it was 40 degrees outside and way below sea level. But I ran a 15.9 this summer with only CAI and hks muffler. People say they don't add much power so i guess I'm close to stock.

so what were your times???
I remember that thread and video. It's the same as me and another celica guy who ran 14.7's stock. people claimed bs until they saw it themselves lol.
all it takes is a great launch and no shifting mistakes to get times that you arent supposed to.

well i ran a 16.5 on a completely stock lx motor. i have bald tires so i guess thats why my time sucked compared to th 15.8. oh yea i also walked the same ex em2, thats why i called bs. i also ran the fastest times in other cars. 16.1 in a 95 gsr.
i would love to see the video... if he can run a 15.8, that means he can keep up with lets see..... gsr, civic si, civic ep3, 240sx s13, 240sx s14, celica gts... just to name a few. these cars have a lot more hp than the d17 motor. i would love to prove myself wrong as well as others who doubted the em2....
im not trying to cause an argument just want to compare my times with others. oh yea i will post my new times once i install my k20a

gsr's could get into 15's stock.... mid 15's i believe. the 6th gen si could run low 15's stock, and i think the gsr is right there with it....

It's all about the driver and a good launch.
I ran 17.0 bone stock. 35psi in all tires and 80+ degrees air temp at night with 95%humidity. With practice, lower temps and a few mods i was able to shave almost 2 secs. I have a dx so an ex should be capable of better times stock.

^^ thats mainly cause you couldnt do it yourself. post all the numbers from your timeslip. I'm sure we could help you figure out where you went wrong.
sorry to break it to you but unless the driver is completely retarded a celica shouldnt be up in that range even stock. (although it does happen every so often, it's the driver not the car)

thats wat im saying... how is it that a 127hp car can beat a 160hp car?? that just dont make sense. i drivers ability is still limited to the power of his vehicle. whos to say that he doesnt have internals done. pnp head, cams, rods, pistons, disabled ps, ac, it just goes on.... i say i will believe it when i see it in person...
oh and the person that recorded was way too happy to have a stock car run 15.8

first off, the reason they were excited was because they had a stock CIVIC run a 15.8. which is something to get excited about when it's a civic.
secondly, an ep hatch Si can run mid 15's with the best drivers. a 16.1 is with a driver who needs to have his keys taken away.
sit and deny it all you want. it happened. deal with it. you're not the best driver out there, which i think seems to be what your main hang up on this is. just cuz you can't run it, doesn't mean it's not possible.

hp is not the end all be all. don't base your opinions on what a car's hp is.

I've beaten 3 out of 4 modded SI's. Most with the same mods as me. The one that beat me was on the street. I never got to race him at the track, but I did get him the first race then he pulled on me the last two. So it can be done. Anything is possible when a skilled driver is behind the wheel.
Just out of curiosity. Is there a slip for the 15.8 guy? If so post yours up and we'll compare it to his and see where you went wrong. Also his was an EX right? That's 12 extra hp and shorter gears. The weight diffrence between EX and LX isnt that much to make a big difference. It may be hard to believe but under the right condtitions and a good driver it could happen and obviously it did. Why would the guy go through so much trouble to prove his was stock if he had internal work done. That would be a shitty time if he had a bunch of internal work and not worth trying to fabricate a lie. You asked the question, we answered and now you can't accept the truth.
