I agree.....although highly modded car do pretty well with an A/T.....as long as that tranny has a shift kit and a upgraded torque converter(with a higher stall) but stock is bad news

Obviously some people don't know how to 'drive' automatic.

shiet, i'd be proud to be in the 16s with a stock automatic 7thgencivic.
has anyone ever ran their stock ex auto at the strip to just get a basic idea where it stands at? i know 17-18 sounds right but im curious to know specific time.

I actually 17.0 flat when my car was stock.
Goes to show you how bad d17s respond to mods.I only have two.
Any automatic N/A 7th civic in the 16's is an accomplishment.
So what's your slow *** stock time?

As for you, It's a bit more complicated to get in the 16's with an automatic than you can imagine. Notice I put drive in quotes. You just can't floor it and get a 16.9 in an auto 7th Gen.It does take skill.Go out and try it yourself.

that is true. their are certain tricks to get slightly better time in an automatic transmission. i beleive their was a technque of some sort where you put it in Neutral, hold brake with left foot, gas which will soften the brake pedal,... something like that. there was a site that showed tips for launching an auto

. Anyways, high 17's to low 18's are about right. Also whateva you do, please don't not shift an AT like MT, you'll tranny will pay for it big time (in due time). yes their are techniques to launch an auto. their was a site from a pro dragger that showed tips to how launch your auto better then just stomping on it on D.
ill try to find the site.
16sec for an stock auto 7thgen is pretty good actually. dont see whats wrong with that?

my wife ran 17.4 in her stock 04 auto EX.
I think 16.9 for an auto is pretty damn good as well. His 60ft was like a 2.5 too. So if he got some sticky tires he might run a mid 16. What was your tire pressure at? You should lower it to 22 psi in the front and max psi in the rear and see if that helps.
It's not always about being the fastest. It's about having fun and doing the best with what you have. So give the guy a break.

Thank you and Redline for your EDUCATED input.
BTW: I'm sure I could have ran a better time. The trip to the track was an hour and i was averaging 80 mph the whole way. I am sure if my engine was cooler I might have ran a better time.My times were made with full interior also. I was running like 25 psi in the front tires. My mod list isn't long so i think there is slightly some room for improvement. If there are people that are running better times in an N/A auto I want to get some advice from them.

15.9? I used to have an sf turbo kit and even prior to that, never was I "proud" of my estimated 1/4 mile times.

I'm sure I can beat your *** too...If you drive an auto civic.
You constantly prove yourself to be an idiot.it's a f*cking AUTOMATIC civic.
Anything below 18's or 17's is good.16.9 is pretty damn good for an auto with only two mods and full interior. I could do alot better if I put 14" wheels on my car.I sure if you drive a stick that isn't boosted I can keep up with or pass you.Don't hate because I am a better driver than you. Also if you don't have an automatic civic, or educated input, why the f*ck are you posting in this thread.go somewhere else.
