nice kill u got on me tonight

on my way home tonight...I was in the right lane approaching a green light passing a corvette along the way then all of the sudden the light changes to yellow (red). So I'm chillin at the light and I switch it to high boost just in case he wants to play. I check it out and see it's a C-5 (u can tell if there's no lower vent and C5 wheels right). Anyway light turns green and both of us take off somewhat normal...not fast but also not slow so I finally get to cruising in 4th gear doing about 65mph+ and still accelaratring then all of the sudden he gets on it so I downshift to 3rd. So I'm on it and I'm surprised how close I am to him still I'm hanging and he's not really pulling on me so we approach 100mph+ getting towards the end of my 4th gear and the green light we're approaching turns yellow and I get off it and stop at the light and he RUNS THE **** OUT OF THE LIGHT FULL THROTTLE....no cars were coming though and I think its pretty stupid b/c those lights supposed to be "motion" lights but nothing was coming the intersecting way...oh well...had a lil' fun...by up to 105mph+ (still 4th gear) he had about a car and a 1/4 on me....put it this way, if someone was passing me and trying to split us to get in front of me, only thing that would fit would be a bike so I say about a car and a fender maybe AT THE MOST...anyway it was fun....I'm sure if we did it from a dig, I would have gotten ROASTED ...oh well....one day, I will get u Mr. C5...

from a roll that is.....maybe from a dig...who knows ...we'll see... got a couple more things in my garage to put in that may help a little ....no major mods...just little ****.

losing isnt fun but this one didnt feel bad

/\/\8lbs? Nice death. That's an honorable death by the way. Only a car and a fender, not too shabby. I'm boosting this weekend . 6psi for now. You should seriously think about forged pistons and rods and bumping up the boost! You probably could have been neck to neck with 12lbs!!!

thats not true cause i have the same ls1 engine thats in the c5 vette and my tourque is 365 from 1200 rpms all they way to redline so roll or no roll when i step on the gas im gone

Nice. Not many hondas (let alone 7thgens) can even think about hanging with a vette.
My vette, on the other hand, would suprise you. Other than the exhaust tips, the car looks stock. Check out my sig. I think its cheaper to go low 11'in in the vette than low 13's in the civic

I really open these threads with an open mind, but hanging with a corvette at over 100 mph, c'mon. if you run a 14.8 1/4 how are you keep up with a low 13's high 12 car? Plus, with aerodynamics the vette has an advantage over you. And, LS1's at top ends are beasts, they have gobs of power and torque. I'm sorry man, but i think he was prolly just messing with you.

man there are some HATERS on this site...not once did I say I BEAT THE vette or pulling on him...all I'm saying is from 70mph or whatever to 100mph+ he kept a little over a car on me but I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE KEPT ON PULLING ON ME IF WE WERE TO KEEP ON GOING...yes I know...and btw, the one who pointed out my 1/4 time...notice its a 14.8 with a 2.576 60' with a 98.9mph trap speed...what do vettes trap...what 109? I'm assuming an auto would trap lower (still dont know if this one was auto or not) sorry i didnt get the chance to ask if he was seriously racing b/c he ran the red light and I stopped...was he full throttle...probably not but how was I supposed to know...sorry he didnt have his transparent doors on there so I couldnt tell if he foot was to the floor...

to the S2000 man b/c u're car is god and us boosted 7th gen would never be a match to u or never be able to tell a good story thats believable....riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

damn ****ing C5, take me seriously next time and let me know if u're going full throttle or just playing with me

maybe next time I should post a LOSS...okay change of story...I won

uh.... a C5 runs a 1/4 mile in about 12.4 @ 115.

secondly, do you realize that from 70-100mph, a C5 would put probably a couple buslengths on you?

your trap is a little more indicative of what you could run if you hooked up properly. in other words, you could probably do low 14's. even then low 14's @ 99mph, vs 12.4 @ 115 mph. do you even realize that means you'd probably be just over halfway done with the 1320 and the vette would be crossing the finish line.

trust me. a C5 would put probably a couple buslengths on you from 70-100mph. we're just trying to set you straight, before you get laughed at by other people or made to look a fool in real life, instead of in front of us yahoos on the internet.

c5 vettes run the quarter hella fast automatic or manual. Thier automatic transmissions are just as good as the stick on those cars. Some cases better because of driver error on stick shifts.
You did not hang with him at all. You werent even close, he wasnt even trying, you have no clue how fast they are.

the C5 vettes run 12.4 from the best drivers i've seen on ls1.com. and before you go mag razing, 13.1 is the crappy godawful times they post in magazines. it's like saying an S2000 runs 14.4. lol

there all fixed. c5 convert we had spiral grey metallic had k and N filters and corsa exhaust. Just read the article new z06 c6 jesus thats a beast

a C5 STOCK runs a 12.4 ....street tires and all...

from MY understanding a C5 runs mid to low 13's (low 13's with GREAT DRIVER) and a Z06 runs a 12.4 STOCK...hopefully u're not talking about the NEW '05 Vettes b/c I'm not...so from MY understanding a C5 runs mid to low 13's and I even know a guy personally who runs a 13.7 in his automatic STOCK C5....and his friend who has exhaust or whatever runs a 13.4 in his C5....I'm assuming they are OKAY drivers b/c he also has an Imapala that runs 10's

anyway, maybe this will clear it up...the vette was HALF THROTTLE and didnt even downshift but I still couldnt catch him and he had NO MORE THAN car and half by the time I got off of it and he kept on going...I dont remember now anymore...long time ago and forgot about it....next time, I'll ask him will he take me serious next time

oh yeah I do know S2000's run low 14's stock...my friend in my club ran 13.9@98.18mph in his S2000 and I believe it was either stock or had just intake and I think he had a 2.0 60' .............damn I need to lower my 60'....I'm quite sure I can hit the 100mph mark but I gotta some stuff I need to tend to on the ride anyways and this is just at 8ps...8psi will become LOW BOOST setting soon

btw, when I ran that 14.8....my clutch was slipping and still is

am I making an excuses...naw......okay I run a 14.8@98.94mph with 2.576 60'......FOR NOW

oh yeah 83,XXX miles on motor btw....not too shabby huh....*coughcoughNEWBLOCKCOMINGSOON*coughcough

It's not like you said you beat the guy. You admitted he pulled on you. With your 1/4 time trap speed and 60ft I can see you hanging with him from a roll if he was a bad driver, there are a lot of them around here. That's just it you never know on the street.

from MY understanding a C5 runs mid to low 13's (low 13's with GREAT DRIVER) and a Z06 runs a 12.4 STOCK...hopefully u're not talking about the NEW '05 Vettes b/c I'm not...so from MY understanding a C5 runs mid to low 13's and I even know a guy personally who runs a 13.7 in his automatic STOCK C5
your friends can't drive for sh*t. A C5 has an LS1 engine in it. Yes, they run around 12.4 stock with a decent driver. considering a stock LS1 camaro can run a 13 flat stock, it's perfectly understandable why the C5 can run a 12.4. the Z06 is a bit faster.

If you really think I'm bs, go ahead and argue over on ls1.com and tell them a C5 can't do better than 13's stock. You'll get laughed off the forum.

I shouldnt even bother trying to prove points in these threads. There will always be the guy I duked it out with a c5 and hung with it in my 4 cylnder 230hp civic!
The car is 355hp more importantly is its high torque and it isnt exsactly a heavy car.
post what you like Im done with people think their boosted d17 turbo'd k20 cars can hang with sports cars. Mad props if you got some serious cash like the guy with a built k20 motor turbo on the forum. He runs slicks too
