Good job! 113mph is good for high 12's. Any other mods? What was your 60ft by the way? You got a timeslip?Originally Posted by Jmariano0285

idk 75 shot on a stock motor= bad news in my book but its his car and its my opinionOriginally Posted by thiscrackerntam
very nice time and by no means suicidal Yeah 113 is a very high trap speed for any civic especially the D17. Im not gonna call BS though until I know what all is done to his car. Plausible... but not probable...

Thats's what I was thinking. Time slip and mod list should help clear things up.Originally Posted by scansel912

Plausible... but not probable... 113mph trap on a non-vtec D17 w/75 shot? i dont even think a 113mph trap would be possible on a D17 with ANY amount of n/a mods and a 75 shot, short of a bored-out and completely built up engine. even then it'd be unrealistic.
i hope your intake has an impeller.....

Then my buddy thomas ran a 12.20 @ 117 mph and his 1/8th was 7.96 @ 94 mph.
man i gotta get to the track with my car. i am hoping for a mid 15 with my mods. right now i am currently running my CAI as a SRI. i did this during winter and never stuck it back on. i really didnt notice to big of a difference in the 2. on warmer days i guess it does respond better. i also need to do the throttle body heater mod.
what do you guys think she is capable of with my mods? (intake, dc ex header, random tech ex cat pipe, greddy evo2 ex, exedyt organic clutch and streetlite flywheel, iridium plugs)

i know better than that. ill be using the stock 14" steelies with a ok tire combo. besides tires for the 18's are too expensive to burn up at the track. and the rims i do have on there are heavy so they will not see any track time.
my best all motor is a 15.5 @88mph.
i'll try to break my best n20 this saturday.

now this gives me hope with my head swap. i am hoping a little faster times maybe a 14.9. i am getting a throttle body with my head purchase so that is getting bored out with the head work and cam replacement. ill be using emanage to tune though. i will also be using a cam gear and having that tuned as well. i am really setting my hopes high on this one i think but i also have a good place for tuning and the headwork so maybe it will make more of a difference. keep your fingers crossed guys. the head is on its way to me so ill have that sent out to portflow as soon as it comes back.Originally Posted by djmota

portflow is a good shop
If I could have done it again I would have slapped on some flat faced valves for a slight bump in compression. You should ask them about it. I believe the exhaust valves are the same as d16 and should be available. it might be the intake... i can't remember for sure.

that is already a thought in my head. i am having the head milled to bump the compression as well so some flat faced valves might be needed if i plan to mill as much as i want to.Originally Posted by djmota

Damn, nobody with a 12, yet on a d17. Hopefully I'll break that next weekend....we shall see how it goes.
Well I went to the track saturday and nudged another tenth off of my n2o time. I ran a 14.1 at 97.9mph I feel the is another tenth to be had with a little more bottle pressure. the run after that I bogged it
and ran a 14.2. We'll see next month. on a side note I beat a rsx type s on an all motor run. he ran a 15.6 and i ran a ugly 15.8 got one bad wheel hop off the line(scared me a bit so i let off) I cut a better light and he could not catch me.
it must feel bad to be beat by an all motor d17 The blue K24 sedan in honda tuning was there he got a 14.2 then a 13.8 on steet tires
not bad for his first time at the track with this set up.
it must feel bad to be beat by an all motor d17 The blue K24 sedan in honda tuning was there he got a 14.2 then a 13.8 on steet tires Saturday night, I went to the track. Track conditions were pretty terrible, I should've had much better 60's. Nonetheless, here are the results:
Got three 13 second passes.
First run out:
RT: .6797
60: 2.2739
ET: 13.8719
MPH: 103.69
Not bad for the first run of the night.
Next best run:
RT: .2658
60: 2.3663
ET: 13.8877
MPH: 104.60
I let a friend of mine make a pass, this was his 2d run:
RT: .6240
60: 2.3644
ET: 13.9948
MPH: 106.06
I figure with some better 60's, I should have under a 13.5 easy. Next Saturday night the track should be more well prepped so I'm hoping for low 13's. We'll see how it goes.

if your running stock tires then that 60' is about as good as it gets. with t good set of street tires you should be able to shave that down to a 2.0-2.1 and with a set of slicks a mid 13 is definately possible. but what kind of tires were you running???
