i've taken my 02 5spd up to ~124mph and the only governor there was my conscience
but i still don't see how you can go 140 unless your speedometer was off or you have some different size tires throwing it really off, as stated earlier. i do hear the speedometer gets inaccurate at higher speeds anyway...

Well, I have had my 03 EX 5 speed up to about 125mph before I chickened out. I'm running the stock Firestone shitrubbers, so I didnt trust them. I have heard though EXs aren't governed by anything except engine speed. I believe you.

ill gonna say that i have an 02 lx and ive hit 117 or 118 on my car and even if i PINNED the gas the gar wouldnt move faster, the fact of the matter is the car is geared to go higher than about the low 120's but when you reach speeds like that, your car simply isnt powerful enough to counter-act the forces pushing against you AKA air friction/resistance. My e36 was geared to go 180 something but it NEVER went near there and i sure as hell never brought it there. Im sorry bro i believe your story but i dont think you did 140, even though the car is geared to do it, i just cant believe it. AND unlike other *******s and other rude people on this board (no one specific) im not flaming you.
