So i'm driving home for the weekend from school and its about an hour drive. About 10-15 minutes into the drive I see this car coming up real quick behind me. I'm cruisin at about 75-80mph so this guy is goin pretty quick. I see his headlights and I'm like oh, its a late model Golf GTI... so I'm like OK I'll jus let him pass and I'll keep cruising at my same speed. I'm on the far left lane and I stay put so he goes to my right and then all of a sudden i hear PSSSHHHH! so I'm like oh **** its boosted. Then he creeps up a bit and I see his car is a bit longer than a Golf and it ends up that its a early 90's Jetta with a late model Golf headlight conversion. So he slows down and starts to taunt me, speeding up, slowing down, blow off valve... I'm like dude I don't want to race you. Well I sort of took the bait and end up takin my car up to 112mph which is the speed governer. So finally he speeds away and goes off into the other freeway. Of course I lost.. I didn't feel too bad though cuz he was boosted.

Then, about halfway through my drive, traffic starts building up and we slow down to about 45-50 mph. I see this nice black AMG mercedes (i think it was an s500) weaving in and out of traffic behind me. I'm like dude, we're not goin anywhere. So he goes beside me and tries to cut me off in this tiny space between my and the car infront of me. I don't let him but this jus pisses me off. So I end up weaving in and out of traffic and the nimble civic with the tight suspension (i got ground control coilovers and koni shocks) leaves the big boat behind.

By this time, I'm almost home and its dark outside. I slow down from my weaving and traffic is flowing smoothly at around 60mph. I then see HID's with yellow fog lights and immediately recognize that its a Lexus IS300 coming up fast behind me. I'm guessing he must have seen me leave that benz behind and wanted a piece of the action. So I down shift to 2nd at around 60 (HX has long *** gears) and slam it into 3rd at around 72mph which is redline. And oddly enough, the IS300 couldn't come up beside me. Soon we're hitting 100mph and I'm in 4th until there is some traffic in the way so we have to slow down and he rides my tail so close I just wanted to brake hard and claim some insurance money. But I didn't. So there is an opening on the left lane and one on the right... the IS300 immediately takes the left opening so I take the right and we both take off... I was surprised because he could not gain on me at all from 60-100mph... we were like side to side, and i thought he would pull on me but I was actually pulling on him! Traffic is in front and he speeds by while i slow down and take my exit... then i see the IS300 doesn't even have plates yet because its brand new!

well thats my long story... here's the summary for you lazy peeps that don't wanna read

so 3 cars in a 60 mile freeway drive...

1. a boosted jetta w/ golf headlight conversion and boost owns me...
2. An AMG S class Benz with a driver.. and
3. A brand new IS300 that can't keep up with a slightly modded Civic.

So, I thought IS300's were pretty fast? i guess not?

eh not sure, i would thought the IS300 would own a civic at those speeds. but i just checked and they run low 15 quarters so i dont know, might be geared wierd? or maybe it was new so the guy wasnt getting on it all the way.
