Made a Z28 owner turn green
I personally get off to making V8 owners feel stupid. They just really annoy me by always trying to showoff at the light, taking off , rear wheels spinning. I know I can't compete at the light, but on the hwy? If I catch them offguard, if they don't have much done to their ride, and maybe even if they don't know how to drive too well. ( we hafta know how to drive our cars at their best to keep up) Any ways, same hwy I come home from every night, damn near same spot where it opens into three lanes, I always run into cars that wanna take me on. I was minding my own buisness, thinking of whatever, and I look in my rear view mirror to see a green camaro coming at me fast. I was doing close to 85, in sixth gear ( my standard hwy cruise speed ) and he pulls up on the left. I look over, it's a z28, and I have never tried to race one. I have taken out a few mustangs on the hwy, some old some newer, but never even tried a Z. I was a little apprehensive. I dropped it into fourth, hit the gas, and kinda expected to be walked. To my surprise we hung neck and neck,( no traffic was in sight, plenty of straight road) 100, 110, fifth gear, 120( still close by) 130 in fifth and I actually pull away from the bastard. I didn't let up untill I was at 135 ( still in fifth ) and he had given up. I normally don't do such stupid things like this, but it just really , really, got me curious, and once I started, you know how hard it is to back off. I waited for him, and he just looked at me, smiled, shook his head, and that was it.

what year Z28 are we talking? Pre-LT1 i hope?
..... even a stock LT1 Z28 would work a stock RSX-S at freeway speeds. especially into the top end like that. RWD advantage lost or not.
it sure as hell wasn't a 1998+ LS1 camaro.
i'm guessing it was either a pre-LT1 camaro Z28, or a very sickly LT1.

S2000man01 speaks the truth. An LS1 would have eaten an RSX-S alive at those speeds and LT1's still have a pretty decent topend. I had an LT1 Z28 and when it was stock... it was no slouch on the freeway.

ive driven an 02 z28 6spd. would absolutely kill a rsx-s.(even tho it may have not been the year that u raced, i think a v8 camaro would give you a spanking) I'm not saying I killed him, hell, he might have just been playing with me, but also maybe his car wasn't in as good as condition as it could have been. It was fun though no matter what.

When I had my 99 si, I took a buddy on the hwy in his 91' rs camaro. I didn't get him by much, but I did pull away. In the same car I also pulled away from a 96 impala SS going to Lake Charles on the hwy. I miss that little car so much. It got totaled when I moved to Houston in 2001. It was bone stock, three years old with 48k on the odo. I had been working a temporary refinery job that was major money for six months and was gonna put about 4k into the car. I loaned it to a friend to go to the store, and it never came back home.

y-body = corvette
Well, I don't post much unless it is to correct a mistake. In 1993-97 z28's and trans ams came with LT1's rated at 275 hp, 325 lb feet of torque. Could do 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, 1/4 in 13.8 seconds, and topped out at 160 mph. Corvettes got the Lt1 in 92 and kept it until 1996 and came with 300 hp. There's no way unless the z28 was old as dirt that you beat him, unless he was not firing on 4 cylinders. That's why I love my 95 Trans Am.

if you killed a modifed mustang GT, then the GT couldn't drive. a modded GT is faster than your GTO.
in fact I raced a GTO earlier today and beat it from a 30mph roll.....

cause in the ls1gto.com forum people already raced a 05 and beat it. now let me correct myself on my kill list the mustang had an exhaust thats a givin but who else knows what else he had but i beat him by 3 car lenghts and you give me a site were it says a modded mustang will beat the gto. the gto the only stock mustangs that beat the gto is the saleen and the cobra im not sure on the mach 1 but i think its about a tie.
