honda accord type-r?
so i was driving down my street today on my way to class, and i saw my neighbor has a white accord. i never really payed it any mind but for some reason today i decided to check it out. well as im driving by today, i glance at the emblem on the back and what do i see? "Type R". so im like wtf? i didnt even know there was an accord type-r. it looks like a '96 model accord. anyone know anything about them? and hes an older oriental man and i dont think its just a random sticker on the back. theres nothing rice-like about it, its actually very... jdmish i guess is the word.

it's just a decal. a true type-r accord would have the steering wheel on the right hand side. it was only available in europe from 1999-2000, and came in a 4 cylinder 2.2 liter making 210hp, 5-speed only, red silver or black only, and again, would have the steering wheel on the right side.
he's just got some ricey type r decal.

ahhh, but there is NEW type-R or called, Accord Euro R. It uses the same K20 from the DC5-R and 6 speed manual... etc..... basically, it's not here, the closest you can get is the TSX.
Basically, for the 96 model, there was never an Accord type R anywhere in the world. H22A was the engine....... but then again, back in the late 90's a lot of Accord tuners had swapped out the F series engine for the H...... sorry, off topic.

actually you are thinking of the JDM prelude SiR which came with 220hp available between 1997-2001.
the prelude Type S was only 195hp.
