7th Gen VIC [VS] 6th Gen VIC
Not that i like to race or anything i mean I have my car more like a luxury car then a racing car, but i was wondering this. Can my car a 01 sedan EX auto beat a 96 Ex coupe manual (not V-tech)?? its my bros car he has bagz on it with 17'z, and i have mine lowered with 18'z...
Also i was wondering do all 7th gen. civicz have a v-tech, i mean i remember when i had my GS-T Eclipse...every teen wanted a civic with a V-Tech and there ain't many around with V-techs...yet every 01+ model i see has a v-tech??

Well....I raced with my cousin one time....He drives 96 EX auto, I drive a 03 EX manual....smoked him after 4k on 1st....The new D17 VTEC has a better midrange than D16, while D16 is tuned for top end....
That's what I think with 99/00 Si, DOHC system has very poor performance at low-mid rpms, but excellent top end....One drives a EX won't get smoked until the Si's VTEC kicks in....SOHC system does have excellent low-mid performance....

i thought all ex model civics were sohc vtec? =|
your bro has advantage because 1) hes manual and you have an slush box auto, 2) your on 18's while hes on 17', an 3) what happened to your eclipse gs-t? those cars were worth maintaining.
if u guys go at it, goodluck and make sure to do it on a safe private road!

Still have the GS-T...but you just don't know how hard it is to find an engine for those thingz....looked all ova the place its always 2 grand pluz with over 80k miles on it....so right now its laying around....and only the engine on the 95 & 96 Model Eclipsez fit.... here is some pictures of the GS-T....

nice eclipse (exclude the decals).
if you cant find a motor for it, you can rebuild but dont know how much that goes up to.
i would check the for-sale section if you want some used parts for a good price. but to give u heads up, a lot of ppl been gyped on this website.
